SG video is heartbreaking. I worry the large reward indicates LE is not much closer to cracking this. This is the second SG video meant for the public (vs a specific person or profile of a specific person). The first was around the time the best videos/pics were released.

This video is so raw. I’m not sure what exactly is it, but it seems so much more raw than the others. No “code”, cryptic messages, etc.

I could be wrong, but I think the Cajun Navy generally waits to be invited or at least okayed by LE when they search.

Assuming someone from the Navy was at NG’s last night working with LE to get some details to help their search — I wonder what they told SG and family based on their experience in similar cases.

Looking over the arrest documents from KD last year--her listed address is a town called Sahuarita--which from looking the maps it looks to be south of Tucson. Property looks pretty rural out there.

Would think that if she is is on the radar that LE has searched that area..... I would hope.

She said her mom was taken from her bed. Whether this was just figuratively speaking or what actually happened, it seems this is what the Guthrie family believe happened. Could this dispel the thought that she was maybe up and walking around when it occurred, or went to her door?

And it seems as if the family is as lost as we are about whether she is alive or not. I know there has been some speculation about why the family hasn’t been pleading or searching, with the thought that maybe they had concrete evidence she was already deceased. But this doesn’t seem to be the case.

Your suggestion is altruistic, but I would never give away the rights to my DNA to anyone.
IMHO, you can read through the woes of 23andMe on Wikipedia to see what can happen when giving away your rights to your DNA: "...a valuable data mine for third parties such as health insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, advertising companies, biotechnology companies, law enforcement, or other interested parties. I think people are misconstruing my post. I am simply saying that IF people are looking to help, might it be a good idea to pose this as a suggestion? For instance, I had never heard of GEDMatch before a couple of days ago.

I am NOT suggesting that people be forced or coerced to giving their DNA against their will. In fact, I have the same misgivings. But a lot of people don't. And maybe if they already have had the tests done, they wouldn't mind helping out.

It is heartbreaking to see SG begging for her mother to be returned alive or dead, but it says so much about them as a family that alongside offering a huge reward to bring her mum home she acknowledges the huge amount of other families with missing relatives and that they should be helped as she and her family have been, and so is donating a large sum of money to help with that,

I just hope this helps, even though it will also bring out the crazies and scammers, but it may just be the thing that gets somebody to tip in a lead that helps

The United Cajun Navy confirmed that its search and rescue crews are on their way from Louisiana to assist in Arizona.

The Guthrie family and friends requested the help. An advance strike team will participate in the search.

That's my read as well. The FBI wanted to hold off on the big money for as long as possible, to avoid being flooded with fake tips. I think they believed the leads they were working with would pan out (especially the DNA) but sadly they didn't. The $1 million feels like a Hail Mary.
