Am I correct that KD is the only one still detained? Am I also correct that she has ties back to NG and also to Mexico? There is a lot going on in Mexico now. Perhaps that will help the case.
I recall reading this (below). What I'm not completely clear on is whether or not she was incarcerated during the time NG was abducted.

Excerpt:

Day was already in jail at the Pima County Adult Detention Complex during the operation targeting Daley last week, for allegedly skipping court dates on unrelated charges.

First time i have seen a picture of LD. Those eyes! Such a good match. Hoping they a good tail on him.
Possibly, Im not sure. I would think there would be AI to match the two. No matter what, at this time, Im sure LE must wait for all sorts of evidence prior to any arrest/s.

If that turns out to be the case, where do you think the connection is to Nancy? How would she have landed on his radar? I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just trying to figure out the common denominator. Is it possibly his mother?
I have no idea or opinion on whether or not LD is involved in this; however, re: being on anyone's radar - it's my understanding that SG's "coming home" segment ran in November 2025 and it may have gotten a lot of attention in Tucson. JMO/MOO.

@mikerreports

Sources with knowledge of the family’s thinking say the Guthries initially raised the idea of the reward on the first day of the investigation. They were advised by law enforcement to hold off as “doing so earlier might overwhelm the infrastructure set up to field leads, tens of thousands of which have been coming in organically.”

ETA : They are now offering the seven figure sum after coordinating with investigators. They are working closely with law enforcement on this.

Something about the way SG read the names of the pre-deceased family members made me paurse for thought. Heartbreaking. JMO

Maybe their own initiative?

For me a great connection can be addled mind due to drug use plus a privileged background. Grandiose plans and thinking you're cleverer and more powerful than you are. NG and SG are well-known in Tucson. Neighborhoods not distant from each other. Seeing NG at the grocery store or gas station. JMOO theory.

Some people never subscribe or plan to subscribe. They only want the ability to see who is at the door when the doorbell rings.
We never bothered with the Ring subscription for our doorbell camera; we figured the basic live view was enough. Then one afternoon, police showed up at our door asking if they could review our footage because of a copper theft across the street. Turns out our camera angle didn't catch anything useful, but my husband and I already had a pretty good idea who was behind it. Unfortunately, without the subscription, we had no recorded clips to share.

The officers were polite, but it was a missed opportunity to actually help. If you have a Ring (or similar) doorbell camera, seriously consider paying for the subscription. Being able to save and share footage when it matters, like for police investigations, makes it 100% worth the cost. Don't wait until law enforcement is standing on your porch to wish you had it. Just my two cents from experience!

That video by Savannah hit hard - talk about raw emotion.

The case seems to have gone pretty quiet after the chaos of a few weeks ago - hopefully this much bigger reward encourages somebody to come forward.

I do think this unfortunately is a recovery operation rather than a live missing persons investigation.

I hope Savannah and the family have answers soon
Just finished watching it myself. SG's pain and sadness are palpable: My heart and soul ache for the Guthrie family. I pray daily for SG and her siblings and hope that they will soon have their mother back and begin to heal from this horrific ordeal.

"Give ear to my speech, O Lord; consider my utterance.
Heed the sound of my cry, my King and God, for I pray to You.
Hear my voice, O Lord, at daybreak; at daybreak I plead before You, and wait."
Psalm 5: 2-4

LD's life situation seems quite interesting, and I wonder what sense you make of it.

According to arrest reports, he's involved in drug sales, and serious drugs, too. Drug abuse doesn't discriminate based on income or intelligence, of course. But the sale of drugs is odd to me, considering he appears to come from a well-off family with professionally-qualified parents. I suppose if he's also a drug abuser, sales is one of the few "jobs" that fits in with that lifestyle.

Is he desperate to make it big somehow so he can get his own place, or is he satisfied where he is? Is the family secretly in financial trouble and at risk of losing their nice home?

To me, it's a pretty big leap from selling some smack to abducting a human for ransom unless there's serious financial pressure, but anything's possible.
His mother may be an enabler. She knows what is going on but turns a blind eye to it. However, she may not support him financially outside of providing room and board.
As for dealing, yeah you can make good money, but if you’re using and abusing, it will eat up those profits.
Drug addled minds do not think clearly. If he had inside info from his drug addicted gf, it might have seemed a simple job. How much trouble could an 84 year old be? The possibility of making millions of bucks might seem like manna from heaven.

So the Sheriff is saying that they don’t know when the no backpack image was from? Did I get that right?
Saying without an actual date and time stamp who knows.

That's my read as well. The FBI wanted to hold off on the big money for as long as possible, to avoid being flooded with fake tips. I think they believed the leads they were working with would pan out (especially the DNA) but sadly they didn't. The $1 million feels like a Hail Mary.
I’m still hoping the inside DNA results point to the perp!

I think it’s a local person, people.

Someone who knows Tucson well, yes. Could be someone who no longer lives there, though.

There must be someone out there who knows or suspects who Lantana Guy is. He’s not a ghost that appeared out of thin air and disappeared into the ether. Someone must know something. I hope a million dollars is enticement enough to talk.

I know people keep circling around LD even though LE seems to have moved on. But I can't seriously think that the perp who did this lives with his mom.
Moved on?

They still have his RR.

Someone may have already posted this but he may have wanted to get out of “Dodge” before his upcoming trial or sentencing from the 2025 arrest. JMHO

The United Cajun Navy confirmed that its search and rescue crews are on their way from Louisiana to assist in Arizona.

The Guthrie family and friends requested the help. An advance strike team will participate in the search.

The group plans to utilize scent-specific dogs, which have proven successful in locating missing boaters and plane crash victims.

Very happy with this news.
I can't shake the feeling tho that this should have been done a few weeks ago.
