LD's life situation seems quite interesting, and I wonder what sense you make of it.

According to arrest reports, he's involved in drug sales, and serious drugs, too. Drug abuse doesn't discriminate based on income or intelligence, of course. But the sale of drugs is odd to me, considering he appears to come from a well-off family with professionally-qualified parents. I suppose if he's also a drug abuser, sales is one of the few "jobs" that fits in with that lifestyle.

Is he desperate to make it big somehow so he can get his own place, or is he satisfied where he is? Is the family secretly in financial trouble and at risk of losing their nice home?

To me, it's a pretty big leap from selling some smack to abducting a human for ransom unless there's serious financial pressure, but anything's possible.

Someone may have already posted this but he may have wanted to get out of “Dodge” before his upcoming trial or sentencing from the 2025 arrest. JMHO

The United Cajun Navy confirmed that its search and rescue crews are on their way from Louisiana to assist in Arizona.

The Guthrie family and friends requested the help. An advance strike team will participate in the search.

The group plans to utilize scent-specific dogs, which have proven successful in locating missing boaters and plane crash victims.

I thought the SG video from today was natural, not studded with oddball phrases and genuine. Sadly, I think that type of video would have better served her in the beginning but it is what it is. I am sure it is also designed to keep the case in the news, which is fine. It would appear NG was taken from her bed as stated in this video and earlier stated by LE.

I am going to say that I see no point in criticizing LE. If and when the perp/stalker is caught, and it goes to trial and the case seems weak and full of holes, then the perceived ineptness is going to scream loud and clear.

I just don't think they have much to work with. If, in fact, it's 2 different encounters by the perp on the property, that screams to me a stalking situation. I think it's one perp and maybe a video taken a few hours apart. The perp/stalker, imo, is more savvy than anyone is giving him credit for. I will also stick my neck out and say I think there is a chance.(20%).NG is alive, secreted away and being treated as a treasured trophy although that is probably more hope than reality.

This guy is someone's brother, son, cousin, neighbor, husband or co-worker. Money wont bring out the defining tip. Conscience and doing the right thing will JMO

I just think a medical professional would have been more aware of how fragile an 84 year old woman is, even such as skin bruising and scratches from such thin skin. Would have been sure NG had her meds if she left alive. IMO

The more I read the more I understand how fearful one can become whether in her neighborhood or across the country like I am.
I just saw an investigator saying when there is an intended sexual assault, age does NOT matter. That threw me as I’m not far from her age. I always wondered why anyone would assault an old woman. The investigator said the one making the assault won’t care. I guess they are sociopaths or psychopaths and that’s frightening!

So if I have this right, the FBI hasn't changed their position from what they said when they released the video which was all released images were from the morning of NG's disappearance.

The PCSD is saying there's no information on the date or time of the image. Are they saying there is a date for the with-backpack images or that there's no date/time for any of the images?

Hopefully both LE groups will straighten this out with a joint statement. Apologies if this has already been answered/resolved this morning and I missed it. Very glad the Guthries were finally allowed to offer a reward for info leading to the location of their mom.

I would caution people they may not be supporting the original organization they think they are. Anyway…

It’s not unheard of for the family to break from LE and bring in their own resources. Think of the Suzanne Morphew case with AM’s search. Time will tell if it was a good idea.

My concern with self deployment here. They are inserting themselves into a very active criminal investigation. They are requesting leads, photos, and videos to them using a QR/website. Operational posturing by backing up local volunteers. They have increased their role in information control. W.O.W.

I don't understand the back and forth about when the images were taken.

So at this point, I'm now confused because within a 12 hour period the public was told that the images were from 2 separate dates and then backtracked?

Is that what happened now?

I don't understand the need to withhold that information. Actually I think it might hinder the investigation because many security cameras record over the existing footage after 30 days or so. I know ours does. So, here we are 2/24 and the public doesn't know if they need to check back to let's say 1/8 or 1/4, something that could have been easily done days ago without loosing that footage. However, now most likely its been rewritten over.

What would be the purpose of holding that information back from the public? I just don't understand. Seems to me come out and say...hey we've captured video that this guy has been at NG's house on X day and then on the night she disappeared. I don't understand how saying that would compromise their investigation.

The public messaging from the SO's office is like a ping pong ball. Back and forth back and forth. Just provide the public clear concise information or don't say anything at all.

Apparently an inside source is cited as saying that the image without a backpack was taken a different night. Nanos says he nor the FBI has said that.

Keep in mind also that a different night could be the night before Sunday morning - the night of January 31, 2026. Nancy is believed to have been taken from her home from the time she got ready for bed and/or went to bed that night and when she was reported missing at 12:03 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Remember LE was asking for footage from January 31st from 9:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

LE says there was also a suspicious vehicle on Via Entrada around 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

LE then came back and requested footage from January 31st from 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. February 1st.


I think the ones adding to the confusion are the leakers. I don't think things should be leaked until LE is ready to announce it.
