oh I am blown away by SG's kind soul, courage and graciousness in her video and I hope it will bring some answers to the family.

I have no words for the way in which the sheriff of PCSO has conducted himself on camera in the only interview I have seen him do, and I had to stop watching after around a minute.
As for the way in which this investigation has gone-IMO- shitshow. Leaks, rumours confusion, lack of coordinated professional updates in one place. From the start, media and others were on the actual crime scene. The nonsensical request for no wider volunteer searches, the mixed messages in reply to media rumours or details, no steps to put public pressure on the criminal/s, a sheriff who is defensive and angry, it feels and looks so disjointed, so messy IMO.

Again this is JMO-to be really clear- but there is something very wrong with how this investigation has been overseen. Hoping so much that there is a change in approach from now on and that some answers for poor NG and her family are forthcoming with the release of SGs video message.

Agree.

The total lack of organized searches in the first 48 hrs is odd unless they knew it was a recovery mission from the start. Even then….
Tried to understand the sheriff's views because he is LE, but IMO the #1 priority should have been searches for NG. The desert area is ridiculous, but there should have been organized attempts, something to show the focus was NG.

In this thread are articles and pictures of the searches that started the day they found out NG was missing and have been posted repeatedly.

The neighbor's quote tells of drones up the first day.

There are pictures of a helicopter with a guy hanging out searching.

Is there some link that says they didn’t search and the pictures, videos and statements in msm on this thread describing searches are what; not true?

For example:

Sheriff’s officials said 100 personnel are working to find and bring Nancy Guthrie back home.

Law enforcement, including U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, with K-9s, were seen outside the Catalina Hills house just after 4 p.m.…

Searchers used drones and search dogs and were supported by volunteers, U.S. Border Patrol and the homicide team, according to the sheriff.

Family of missing Nancy Guthrie releases video statement as search intensifies

all imo

I'm guessing it depends on what information is being offered. Any information is helpful, so here--heres $50k for that small tidbit vs hey you can find your mom here, worth more money for that tip. That would be my take on it.
She also said it could be split between multiple tips. JMO

I know, that's why i googled and got this back:
The FBI Laboratory at Quantico uses a range of genetic markers and technologies for forensic analysis, including Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs), but has historically relied primarily on Short Tandem Repeats (STRs) as its standard practice. SNPs are mainly used as an adjunct technology for specific, challenging cases.

I think the FBI lab is one of the best labs out there and i cannot imagine it doesn't deal with the most complex cases. JMO

Another link on the usage of SNP, STR, and such at quantico i found.

Investigative Genetic Genealogy uses autosomal DNA I believe. The FL Lab is capable of producing all the correct types of DNA profiles and CeCe Moore has used the lab in the past. She is the foremost expert in IGG. This isn't her first rodeo. The lab knows what it needs to produce for both types. I believe FBI lab uses the type that gets uploaded in CODIS, which isn't the same as IGG.

I think the reward increase tells me that FBI has ruled out all of the potential suspects discussed on this board.

It could also mean they think they have a good idea of who it is but don't have enough evidence.

They could be hopeful that someone close to the perp has information but has been unwilling to come forward and that the large reward might be significant enough for someone to come forward. MOO

Would Porch Guy have traveled any distance (from street where car might be parked or through neighbors' yards) dressed as he was with visible holster? Terrifying image and instantly suspect. Anyone catching sight would have reported. So did he dress up near NG's house? Did he dress up to frighten NG as much to disguise? It seems very calculated to terrify.
Good idea, maybe put on masks, gloves in the car.

Or they hope POIs believe they are free, maybe let down their guards now, do something to incriminate.

Also, I think the Guthries now believe NG is no longer alive, really want the body back.

Just some ideas

Certainly, could be. I can't imagine him driving with his full mask & gloves on. He wouldn't risk being noticeable while driving, and if anyone passed him on the road they would have seen him with his mask & gloves.

Perhaps, but it could also be indicative of them having some evidence and knowing who likely did this, but that they don't have enough evidence and need more to physically link him to the crime. For example, they could know he was in close proximity via GPS/cell records, and/or his IP was used for the ransom demands, and/or his vehicle or a vehicle that looked like his was seen nearby, but they may not have any evidence to link him to the specifics. A stronger reward might be enough to compel someone to turn on him, whether accomplice, accessory, or mere confidante.

Yeah i know Cece Moore is extremely high regarded, and i always love to hear her expertise, that's why i was surprised she would state something like that.
Maybe it got lost in translation somewhere along the line.
Mind you, even tho my English is pretty ok i'm not OG but Dutch. Also right now with fever of 40c so brain capacity is a bit slower than usual 🤣
Sorry for my confusion, and thank you for clearing up the IGG aspect 👍🏻🙏🏻

Per NBC News (Savannah's employer)

The Guthrie family was prepared to offer a cash reward from the beginning of the investigation, but they were advised that doing so might overwhelm the infrastructure set up to field leads, according to a source close to the family.

The family decided to offer the reward after careful consultation and coordination with law enforcement, the source said.

The reward does not hinge on an arrest or prosecution, only Guthrie’s recovery, the source said, and the $1 million can be split if there is more than one valid claim.

Thank you for that. i am just not into LE bashing. They came up empty handed . She might be found alive somewhere or dead but not out in the open in obvious places. A lot of resources were used. That's fine with me. Not every search is successful. This is one of them. JMO

btw, how long is that holster? i'll bet someone here could estimate his inseam..View attachment 648058

I know it's a long thread but we've discussed in great detail about the holster. It is a "universal" revolver type poly holster that is profiled for a longer revolver 6.5" barrel. (yes he used a revolver holster to loosely hold his smaller frame semi auto and note he did not even have the safety strap snapped over the top so his semi looked like it would fall out if he had to run)

Some suspect a Walmart brand (due to the backpack being a Walmart exclusive item) but there are other clones of this very generic cheapo holster sold for many years (see them at gun shop $5 bins), including one currently sold online at MidwayUSA (pics attached).

edit: to answer, the length of a large frame revolver with a 6.5" barrel is appox. 12-13" (including pistol grip). So the holster would be estimated at just under 10", probably a tad smaller. edit 2: another pic added

“Based on reports as of February 21-24, 2026, the gray Range Rover seized by the FBI in connection with the Nancy Guthrie disappearance investigation is believed to still be impounded as evidence.”

LE must have a good reason to keep it (evidence found inside RR etc.). Can LD’s attorney request it be released?
