I have actually wondered the opposite, meaning - would a potential suspect be likely to *unfollow* people on social media, trying to look like they're creating distance?

Just a thought I've been ruminating on.

That’s a good point! I think that would be easier to investigate!

That’s what happens when you put that much money out there.

And precisely why they didn’t do it right away.
Yeah at this point in time they don't care about volume imo.

They are looking for hey I didn't want to get involved but my friend said this and I thought he was joking but he has details that haven't been released and it made me uncomfortable. I think you need to check him out.

I know it sounds bad but I used to get so suspicious of people who would join a couple days after a case broke and started striking up convos in the threads. Now silly me realizes we all got here from searching a case and were new to a thread and maybe people thought we were "fishing". I found this place during the Laci Peterson case and I am sure some people here thought I was Scott a few times because of questions my green self asked then, lol.
This is actually hilarious and so accurate. I joined initially over 20 years ago with another account that got banned, lol. I remember people saying really rude things like, "wow, I think we found the killer." If you were a new member and had a good idea, it was brutal. I was blown away by that, said some unpleasant things and got banned, haha.

I feel compelled to note that I’ve been lurking here for well over a decade, I swear.

I'd rather sort through a million tips to get one arrest than sort through fifty thousand tips to get no arrests.

Just my random opinion, but perhaps the point of taking NG was simply that someone wanted SG to suffer? If so, her videos are feeding into what they set out to achieve. Don't know who would hate SG that intensely, but it could range from a mentally ill person to someone like a former fired coworker who felt intensely betrayed by SG and is trying to make a media comeback. Will be very interesting to see if SG returns to TV and if not, who fills the chair. Always useful to look at motive, means, opportunity. Just my opinions, thinking outside of theories already discussed on here, fwiw.

I know like I should have over 20 some years here but can't remember my old account, lol.

Some criminologist should do a study.

Who "wants" to get involved?... at this stage, are looky-loos willing to reach out and leave a false tip just for some notoriety/to feel central to some story's beating heart; or is the default assumption that the overwhelming majority of people won't throw up false lead flags in such a situation, because the default desire/level of people is "not to get involved" and not to invite scrutiny?

I submitted a tip during the Idaho murders. Turned out to be way off base but it was in my opinion a lead worth following at the time. I was just trying to be helpful and I would imagine there’s people like me submitting tips here. And there’s definitely some kooks looking to feel like they’re involved in the case.

Some of us living in the area have disliked Sheriff Nanos LONG before this, and for good reason. I don’t see a reason not to bring it up in this case as it’s very relevant to what’s been happening. IMO
With all due respect, it's been brought up 500 times in this thread already.

RBBM

I have thought this since the first week. And I'm afraid that the continuation of the suffering that would come with absolutely no closure will give this sadist even more delight.

Keeping in mind, this is IMO only.

P.S. I'm not saying that the suffering ends with the knowledge of what happened, but the never knowing would be, IMO, the worst form of suffering.

The most useful tips are the ones that have some intimate knowledge of a potential suspect. It's extremely rare that it comes from some rando who is just a true crime nut (myself included).

The tips they are looking for is someone that is intimately familiar with a perp or has some specific detail about the crime,

Anything that is released by LE videos, still images etc, I can't state this enough, they have the brightest and most skilled people working on it and a obscured tattoo, flashlight, possible ring on finger etc their experts already identified it long before the general public ever received that information.

If you don't know the person you are submitting the tip about you are most likely only hindering the investigation.

All Moo based on the many investigations I have followed

What can we possibly say at this point that hasn’t been said already? There’s no news.

This an old theory on this thread but still a good one, I think. Could be personal or somewhat political.

IMHO, that's a good thing. I hope the next news we see is an arrest.

Get that all at once, and you have a massive mess on your hands.

Initial tips that aren't motivated by money are likely to be real and actionable. Throw a reward out there and you increase the volume, lower the quality, and put you way behind the 8 ball.

In no universe would I offer this much money right away.

  • #39,017
Hoping that the amount of money out there will cause people to focus on real, actionable tips not just speculation. You know, get serious.
One would hope so, but it seems like it often does the opposite. If they can think of anyone they know with brown eyes and a mustache, some idiots are going to call it in...Soon you have chaos.

A million dollars is hard to ignore---so to add to the above, many morons will call in tips about their ex-boyfriends or mean bosses for the thrill of it. And the fantasy about getting them arrested and winning a million bucks as a reward.

And honestly it's worth repeating for those that are local and feel passionate about it.

I'm not local and I have no preconceived notions about local LE in this case. And generally I'm a huge supporter of what these guys do. That's why we are here to support families and those trying to seek truth for the victims.

But I'll never tell locals how to feel or how to post. They see and hear and live things that we only observe from afar.

I've experienced many cases where local law enforcement have let families down, they are human and I'll give them grace, But they absolutely are not exempt from criticism and I'd be willing to bet you might have the same outlook if it was your loved one that was missing. JMO

Do what you want to.

I personally find it tiring to scroll past hundreds of "Sheriff Nanos bad" posts. MOO
