Here's what we know:

C= Phone (I cannot recall his last name, apologies)
LD= Car
AG= Car
NG= Car

This is what I know. Why would LE have anybody's phone? Don't they just use Cellebrite to copy everything and you get it returned within an hour.? Idk.
His initials are CP. I saw the name somewhere today (Wednesday) so still fresh in my mind.

I’m not entirely sure. There are a lot of unusual things about this case as Phil Andrews said in his interview with Brian Entin.

But, I think it’s possible that it did start out as a kidnapping just maybe not necessarily for money per se but to get SG to notice them. Something went wrong so they figured they’d try to get some bitcoin out of it?

Or it was in fact original y a kidnapping for ransom and it went wrong but they still wanted to try?

Or it wasn’t ever a kidnapping for ransom but a ransom letter was devised as a red herring? (I think I lean towards this the most)

Or all of the letters were hoaxes and the part about having knowledge of something in the house was a lucky guess?

I mean… 😵‍💫 ask me what my theory is and I’ll just say yes

Moo
I thought about all of this and my initial belief was the first two letters had to be genuine because they revealed signs from the scene. But the broken lights were one clue, and the lights were visible outside for anybody to see. They also mentioned her apple watch. I have to look and I'm too tired but I know I've seen photos of NG with her watch on. The scammers could guess she'd be wearing it and that the kidnapper would have her remove it. Then they may toss it and they got lucky. They think like criminals.

I'm still torn although I lean towards the first two being genuine. I don't know if I think financial gain was the motive. It hasn't happened. Whatever somebody got out of committing this crime seems invisible.

Praying for the Guthrie family as they navigate next steps with waiting as they also potentially go back in her home. I remember after my mom passed, I would smell her coat and pillow because I knew that would eventually fade and be gone. Sounds strange but it's natural to want to savor those moments. I'm still holding on to the remote chance that Nancy is alive. But also understand the probability that she's not. My opinion only from life experiences.
Kids may want to occupy it for the time being....it is where they primarily grew up with warm memories of Mom. Parking restrictions may be to keep lookie-loos away. jmo

When you are in your mid-80's, even if you are considered 'sharp as a tack', there is still some confusion and mental lapses that often come with the territory.

It is a natural sign of aging, that you might get more easily turned around or uncertain, even in your own neighbourhood. Especially with night time driving. Your elderly eyes have trouble with flashes from lights and periphery movements that can make one feel disoriented. My mother could not drive safely at night because of all of the above .
SPOT ON KATY.

I will be Nancy's age in August.

It's definitely a challenge at night.

You would think but in the Summer Wells case the minor (at the time) that was with Summer, her mom, and her grandma that day still hasn't gotten back his phone.

Lol geez that's kind of crazy. Well, I hope since this man, CP has an attorney maybe he'll get it back?

I didn't realize some people never had items returned. With convictions I figured nobody went out of their way to return property etc but innocent parties shouldn't be punished.

How does the huge ransom demand work with the obsessed stalker theory?

Or do you not believe the first ransom note is from the person who took Nancy?
How that would work is if the obsessed stalker a) wanted the ransom as well as the attention (or NG herself) or b) like you said, the ransom note is not from the person who took Nancy, which is quite possible.

Do you believe that the person with the breaking and entering skills, AKA Lantana Man, is the same person as the one who knows how to trade bitcoin and disguise his IP address? Seems like different skill sets to me, but maybe our guy is Mr. Versatile.

Several of you have mentioned that this doesn't make sense. If there is one thing that I've learned from following true crime for a dozen or so years, it's that criminal behavior does not conform to common sense. Criminals work on a completely different wavelength.

I still don't have one particular theory or motive for this case. But I know what I don't believe. I don't believe this was a burglary gone wrong, or a random abduction. Burglars prefer empty homes, and they steal stuff, not people. If the ransom note is connected to the abduction, the fact that the perpetrator contacted TMZ tells me that he knows who his victim is.

So why take NG?
1. Revenge for some slight
2. Trying to gain SG's attention
3. Trying to hurt SG or another member of NG's family
4. Obsessed stalker
5. Just the money

Anything I've missed?

MOO

So a separate female and two separate males have not yet had their property (two separate vehicles and a separate smartphone) returned after LE took it for processing.

Things that make you go Hmmm.

It sounds like they are cautiously keeping everything for the time being. It is still an active investigation.

CP attorney Jesse Showalter told Brian Entin that CP was handcuffed in the back of a cop car for his 5-7 hour interrogation and still hasn't gotten his cell phone back from authorities.

Is Lantana man the same one who wrote the first ransom note?
I am not sure but I can't rule it out.

I don't see why so many are saying Lantana man looks like he doesn't know what he is doing. He was covered head to toe and clearly was comfortable with a bite light.

I think he thought the camera was disconnected when he walked up to the porch but then he saw it was still active.

Nancy was home and had gotten ready for bed. The garage was closed. Maybe Lantana man thought the home was empty.

The first ransom note was sent to two Arizona news stations Monday evening well after the story went national. TMZ was sent the same note on Tuesday.

I struggle to see porch guy as much more than your typical criminal. This is so elaborate and HL described such well crafted letters none of it matches lazy porch guy. Neither does the obsessed stalker in my mind. This all defies logic. Lol. JMO

I struggle to see how the ransom note is not legit considering the FBI's response to it - advising the family in pleas and the placement of digital billboards.

I think ransoms are not legit, probably, but investigators couldn't risk NOT considering them. jmo
