AZ Nancy Guthrie (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

Maybe I missed it, but I would think there would be so many ring cameras in the neighborhood (and even on Nancy's house) that would have caught photos/videos of vehicles, people, entering/exiting??? I'm also surprised that apparently no alarm was sounded (and authorities notified) when the front door was breached.
It was reported there were cameras in the house, I assume so family could check on her, why aren't the police commenting about what the found on the home cameras?

Agree, he seemed to be choking back tears earlier
I hope if there is a bad outcome that someone else makes the announcement. Sheriff Nanos needs a break.

Yes, and it sure does appear as though someone knew that.

Seems like whoever was at that house chose to enter it when they knew she'd be home alone, rather than entering at a time when it was empty/unoccupied (while she was at church on Sunday, for example).
A tough one since so far there's no ransom.
What would someone want with her that they couldn't try and get w/o taking her out of her house?
imo

LE can't comment on much of the investigation to preserve the integrity of the investigation. Many details will not come out until the arrest affidavit and/or the actual trial.

I don't know if you have a good nose for these things or if you are very good at evaluating the data available (or both?), but I know your expectations are frequently "accurate." I hope that's the case again. At least with regard to a break in the case.
I’m convinced @MassGuy is the perpetrator in most of the cases he follows, he’s just too spot on most of the time 😂

The fact she is Savannah Guthrie's mother has brought the case immeasurable publicity. That publicity has helped LE spread the word about her disappearance and ask the public for any clues or video available.

I think that publicity will eventually help find her mother.
I hope they find Nancy, sooner rather than later. IMO, she is in grave danger

Very true.

Something I fear though that IF she was abducted by someone(s) who didn't know who she was related to, and IF the motive was ransom or money related because she was perceived as rich and an easy target, abductors could have panicked about the publicity. Abandon the plot, get rid of her (hate writing that), take off.
However, I don't believe this is what happened..... remote possibility.

to add...

Could be random, like mentioned.. seems odd being not right off the roadway, not 'easy pickins', or a place to just stumble across. There is a connection some how.

My worry it's some nutjob doing this as a distraction. It is top of every newscast I have seen today. It feels so politically motivated. People do sick stuff to make a point, stuff normal people can not fathom. I study psychology, specifically criminal psychology. People can convince themselves the sickest of things, is justified 'for their cause'.

Other than ransom, possibly having her physically withdraw money from an atm (and I realize that they could have asked her for her pin at the house). That's all I can think of.

@ 12:28 sheriff is asked if anyone associated with her is missing, family, caregiver etc and he evades the question by answering all about how the family,Nancy being the mom, Samantha etc everyone's been so helpful on and on.
Then he evades answering the question is there anything more about her physical condition that you can tell us?
LE: .."I wish I could".
I think they have identified a suspect and LE and the family do not want to be asked why an 84 yr old woman who is physically disabled was in her home alone.
imo

Why do you “think LE and the family do not want to be asked why an 84 yr old woman who is physically disabled was in her home alone”?

Leverage...
But yes, as far as we know, there's no ransom demand

If I heard correctly, during the sheriff’s interview with Erin Burnett tonight he said they were working with the family to try and get the footage off of servers, or something to that effect.

Abducted and taken to an ATM. Have they checked the cameras at the ATM's? It wouldn't have to be the ATM at her bank. There would be plenty of ATM's that could be used. Have they checked her bank balance? (I'm sure LE has) After getting whatever money the abductors could get from her they would have no further use for her.
Too much time has passed for there to be a good outcome I'm afraid.

Her being home alone during the night is what the issue is.
In fairness, when my 86 year old mom was in her last months and before Hospice, she wanted the normalcy of sleeping in her own bed with no one staying. I tucked her into bed at night, set the timer on her TV, and locked her in. My sister was there at sun up. We wanted to honor her wishes as long as we could.

Finances, cell phone/texts and emails are usually LE and families first go-to if available.

Very possible.

Pima County Sheriff says Nancy Guthrie may have been kidnapped, investigators analyzing DNA evidence

Per the link above:

Nancy Guthrie's belongings, including her purse, wallet, cell phone, and vehicle were at her home. PCSD said she suffers from limited mobility and her medications that she needs are still inside of her house.

So, we know her wallet was left at home, but we don't know what credit or bank cards she used, and if any of them were missing from her wallet.

If she couldn't walk 50 yards by herself (per LE), she likely had several people working for her at the house -- a house cleaner, yard work people, and maybe someone to help her in other ways. These people would know the lay of the land. I imagine LE is talking to them.
