AZ Nancy Guthrie (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

The sheriff wouldn't touch the question asked by a reporter if anyone connected with Nancy was also missing.
It did speak volumes..imo
I didn't think he avoided that question. He answered "No" starting at 14:05.

The sheriff said that on her own she wouldn't have been able to get out of the house.
Which is very different then possibly being prone to falls.
imo
Someone or more def took her physically out of the house, as I believe they said she really can't walk more than 50 feet on her own. Plus the evidence inside or around that make him say that she was harmed and abducted out of her bed. It's just so awful for a vulnerable person such as she or anyone in a surprise attack like this appears to be. IMO

If there is no way she left on her own then who the hell took her to Church that didn't show up to take her?

Yes, it sounds like it wasn't her things they wanted, it was her.

I appreciate you taking the time to correct this.
Also his body language, imho, states that “no” even more firmly than his words.

Yes, how did she usually get to Church?

Although Brian Entin just posted there was no ransom demand in this case per LE.
Right, but LE is not going to say there was a ransom call, even if there was. So we can't know how accurate that is, imo.

How do we know she was dropped off at home Saturday night? Have they released who dropped her off?

"no, no, no. all of the family has been very cooperative with us, working with us" etc.
The sheriff answered no to the family, not any associates of Nancy.
imo

"At this point, investigators believe she was taken from the home against her will, possibly in the middle of the night. Taken against her will includes possible kidnapping or abduction," Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said earlier in the day.
….
"Our department has established a Tip Line QR code to streamline the sharing of information. Through this link, Missing Endangered Adult, members of the public can directly submit photos or videos that may be helpful to the investigation," Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Angelica Carillo said in an emailed news release in the evening of Feb. 2.

I think some reporters made a big deal about him only specifically mentioning family in his answer and not saying anything about acquaintances, but listening to him I think that was more about how he perceived the question, rather than trying to dodge the acquaintances issues. Could be wrong, but that's my view. And the question was -- are any of them missing? His answer was No.

Did someone want SG not to go to Italy?

I don't know what the net gain would be... but targeting her mother would almost certainly ground SG...

It would answer the question 'why her?'.

Can’t think of why not… those guys always cover the olympics and haven’t had this kind of issue previously. Possibly, but I’m thinking someone closer to her mother’s personal daily life. Jmo

I don't live in AZ, but I work with Medicaid in my state. Based on what I've read, she would have qualified in my state for home health services. Part of the home health aide's job is to help the person access the community. That could include driving them to church if they are someone who normally goes to church. If the aide received a text from her saying, "I'm not feeling well, don't come pick me up," they wouldn't necessarily think anything was amiss. Of course, that relies on someone knowing her routine well enough to know to cancel the aide. Or points to the aide themself.

Or, maybe she ordered a Uber or a Lyft, and the just didn't yesterday morning. Or maybe the church has a bus that picks people up and she just didn't come out so they left.
