I put her address in the sex registry and searched from her house out 3-mile radius and there are 44 sex offenders. I looked at the ones closest to her house and they all have charges related to minors. Then there was one that stood out, if you put her address 5820 N Camino Escalante Tuscan, Az and filter within 3 mile radius. There is one to the far right of the circled area. He was charged with plotting to abduct a child for ransom.

In this article it says the man owned a security service at the time of his arrest. It may be absolutely nothing, but when looking at the charges of those on the registry near her, that jumped way out to me. He wanted to abduct the child for ransom.

Confusing to me.
HE is in Scottsdale. His company is/was in Colorado.

Are you finding that the child that was targetted was in that 3 mile radius??

How would anyone know? This was posted last night and we never heard from any other social media source about the SIL.
Could be the FBI doesn’t want him to know he's a suspect?

Why is this not reported elsewhere? We do know she had dinner with the daughter but never that her husband drove NG home..

I believe you initially posted the Showbiz source, right? Why are you believing one part of the paragraph but not the rest? I provided the full quote from the paragraph for context.

Take this with a grain of salt since it came from a comment on another post, but someone mentioned they read that the cameras were cut at 12:50 a.m. Has anyone else heard this?
I also read this somewhere and it had a picture of the security camera but searches for it now are not bringing up anything.
If you hadn't of said this too, I would have thought that I hallucinated this bit of information.

Does anyone else think that its odd that law enforcement is not putting out warnings to the community?

Tuscon is filled with retirement communities and I do wonder on what basis the decision was made to not place a proactive warning.
Somewhat, yes. Is it odd the reward is such a small amount? To me it is. Is there a reason why the family isn’t offering a reward? Being they haven’t shared any description of a vehicle, person of interest, ransom demand, it makes me wonder if they already have someone they’re searching for as their suspect. Hopefully the press conference will provide more details.

Just getting caught up this morning. I really hope they get some leads soon.

surprised by the kidnap for ransom dude, so close by. imo this case is really rare and odd...and you do get a feeling this is some kind of staged event by someone who knows her.

who kidnaps an old woman? very very rare in deed. but there have been murders staged to look like kidnappings. mOO
I keep wondering who really is meant to be hurt by the kidnapping/abduction? Nancy certainly, but MOO, it would be Savannah. There is no relationship like a Mother/Daughter. If someone wanted to send a message to Savannah, this would go straight to her heart...
What a nightmare for the family

Snipped from above article:

Authorities found blood inside the Tucson home of Nancy Guthrie, law enforcement sources said, heightening concerns that the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie was the victim of foul play.

It’s certainly starting to look like a targeted abduction.
That there has been no ransom demand is very concerning I think.
Do you think maybe there has been a ransom demand that LE is keeping quiet about?

I personally don't. People should always be aware of their surroundings regardless. Community LE alerts are meant for clear, ongoing threats or identifiable patterns. If alerts were issued every time a crime occurred, they would quickly lose impact and people would stop taking them seriously when there is a legitimate public danger. Based on the limited information we have, this appears to be isolated to NG. IMO

He was in Scottsdale. Now his name and address are on the RSO list for within 3 miles of Nancy's home.

Snipped from above article:

Asked by CNN whether Guthrie could have been part of a kidnapping-for-ransom plot, given her daughter’s high profile, Nanos said that is not the direction investigators are taking, but “we’ll never rule it out.”

Investigators also do not believe it was a home invasion or robbery gone wrong, Nanos told MS NOW, adding they’re not dismissing that possibility, either.

Yes, I’ve been thinking about this too and thought my mind was playing tricks on me. I thought I read or heard on the press conference the sheriff saying something to the effect, there was something about the inside of the home that was familiar to the suspect that only the suspect would know about, but I cannot find it anywhere now. I was thinking it was the security system being shut off and cameras, they knew where the controls were located and how to disable. Sorry I don’t mean to speculate, but I am sure I read/heard these details.

I think if the SIL drove to check on her at 2am, and she disappeared at 2am, this forum wouldn't be discussing her disappearance, it would be discussing his arrest.

I have my doubts about what this report means as well.
Sources say the last person who saw Nancy alive on Saturday night was her other daughter’s husband, her son-in-law, who checked in on her. He is absolutely not a suspect.

UBM portion, not familiar with this outlet and I realize this in not attributed to LE or anyone within the investigation but this isn't couched with the usual "at this time". I have no reason to suspect him yet. And yeah, if things had gone as you mention we'd all be having a very different conversation about this family member.

Maybe you are misunderstanding my comment.
I have not read anywhere else anything about the daughter’s husband driving her home.
The way that is worded, it is bringing in a suspect (or thats how I am reading it). So then it is curious why it is stated that he is not a suspect. This was posted last night at 7:30 PM. How would anyone know that when no one even knew about the son in law being the last to see her?

He drove her home at 10 and she was gone at 2 am.

I hope I am more clear now.

He shows up on the map as living within a 3-mile radius of Ms. Guthrie's house. I posted the link to the registry and her address and mentioned if you put her address in and filter by 3 miles radius he is on the far right of the circle. I clicked on it and saw that the incident included abduction for ransom plot. I googled him and found the article to post. So at least on the sex registry, his address is listed in Tucson, AZ
