AZ Nancy Guthrie (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

While he did not elaborate on the nature of the potential injuries, law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times that blood was found in the home, though it’s unclear whose it is, and there were signs of forced entry.
Exclusive | Savannah Guthrie’s husband breaks silence on missing mother-in-law Nancy

MOO someone from the innermost circle of trusted family and friends wouldn't need to force entry. So someone maybe with familiarity with her or the house but not trusted enough to have a key or who didn't feel confident they could rouse a sleeping Nancy to let them in under some pretense.

Maybe you are misunderstanding my comment.
I have not read anywhere else anything about the daughter’s husband driving her home.
The way that is worded, it is bringing in a suspect (or thats how I am reading it). So then it is curious why it is stated that he is not a suspect. This was posted last night at 7:30 PM. How would anyone know that when no one even knew about the son in law being the last to see her?

He drove her home at 10 and she was gone at 2 am.

I hope I am more clear now.

If you're doubting the "not a suspect" part, why not doubt the "last to see her" part as well? All reputable MSM has reported the sister, Annie, as the last to see Nancy.

IMHO, if the son in law was also the last to see her, it meant he was WITH Annie when they dropped her off. But I'll keep that as an IMHO until I see it on a more reputable source.

Take this with a grain of salt since it came from a comment on another post, but someone mentioned they read that the cameras were cut at 12:50 a.m. Has anyone else heard this?
Haven't read or heard that anywhere.

Well people are saying that the dinner was at the daughter’s house so it makes sense that her husband /partner would drive the mother home.

It would be a strange thing for a publication such as that to post about the daughter’s husband. I think MSM holds back a lot. I trust very little from them. Well, the 1:30 press conference may give more info.

Okay so something just popped into my mind when reading the comments about the security system and possibly it being turned off/disabled before whatever happened took place.

BTK popped into my mind. He worked for ADT I think it was.

I certainly hope this is not going to end up as someone just wanting to kill people like BTK and used something like working for an alarm compnay to gain access to homes.

If they don't think it's abduction for ransom and they don't think it's robbery gone wrong, then that is narrowing down things to some not so good options. :(

IMO For adults who are not where they are supposed or expected to be. A short delay before calling 911 is not unusual or inherently suspicious. We know now that something was very wrong and that every minute matters in an abduction, but the family didn’t have that information at the time. In many cases, family or friends first check the home, nearby areas, and routine locations before calling LE. Evidence that LE discovered in or around the home can easily be overlooked by loved ones who aren’t viewing the scene through LE lens. People also hesitate because they don’t want to overreact, embarrass the person if they turn up, or feel like they’re wasting ER resources. The delay in this case doesn’t strike me as suspicious. I actually have a tremendous amount of sympathy for families of missing people when this happens. No one beats them up more than themselves. IMO

Could be the three of them walked her into her home and Annie was the last one to give her a hug, then they left. I don’t have any reason to believe the SIL is a suspect.

Do we know what Nancy Guthrie did for a living before she (presumably) retired?

On her facebook she mentions working at a newspaper during the time JFK was assassinated.

If there is a grudge, 'longstanding' then perhaps it is from her own working life rather than her daughter's?

Hey Everyone.
Remember, we do not blame the victim. We don't know what Savannah paid for or what Nancy would allow. Please let's stick to the topic.
You all are doing amazing work. You'd be surprised at who is reading here. Keep it up.

It was stated by a poster that she owned the home for 50 years. That was helpful in knowing it was not purchased for her by her daughter,

If NG was on blood thinners and attacked in bed, it’s very possible that she bled more then expected which startled a garden variety sexual deviant into thinking he killed her.

However, if the scene was a bloody mess, you would think that whatever child came to check on NG would see that and call the police immediately.

My gut feeling says this is similar to the Reiner’s, where a very close family member was set off for whatever reason and went after the matriarch. It seems like the police have a pretty good idea about what happened but they need to work backwards to close the case.
My gut feeling says the same thing. To me it feels very strongly it is a family member or close friend. Jmo

I think that's an entirely reasonable conclusion. See the quote below:

Nancy Guthrie believed abducted from home near Tucson

"Nancy Guthrie was last seen Saturday when her family took her home from dinner around 9:30 or 9:45 p.m., (Sheriff) Nanos told CNN. They got her in the house, and she went to bed, he said."

(Bold emphasis mine)

I think if the SIL drove to check on her at 2am, and she disappeared at 2am, this forum wouldn't be discussing her disappearance, it would be discussing his arrest.

I have my doubts about what this report means as well.

This is NOT what that article says.
AND that article is from an entertainment blog NOT MSM.
They have already identified a "husband" when all other accounts say "a partner"

We should be very careful speculating from this "showbiz411" piece.

moo, of course... but I do see these mis-statements stirring up the wrong speculations!

So the part about the son in law later checking up on her is wrong?

Per the article, "Nancy Guthrie's family has asked residents near her home to review their security footage from over the weekend, especially between the hours of 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Sunday..."

I wonder why they are only asking up to 4am when the family discovered her missing closer to noon?

I've never seen it says he LATER checked in on her. And this gossip rag is the ONLY media source saying anything about him specifically.

I hope this isn’t the case, it’s just too sad to think about.
