i forget which source reported it, but i think the letter said they wanted the money by thursday or they'd kill her on monday. since she went missing between saturday the 31st and sunday the 1st, that has to be this upcoming thursday and monday.

I can no longer find a source that says the deadline. But if it's Thursday or next Monday that's a REALLY long window of time to give from a kidnapping that took place on Saturday night.

If that's true, I definitely don't believe the note comes from the kidnappers. Keeping Nancy hidden, keeping her alive, not getting caught, you wouldn't give like, five working days for the family to come up with the money, would you? Much too risky.

My opinion here...none of us really know her schedule in her home. My parents stayed up late watching tv or scrolling on their computers before my mom passed. Now my dad lays down earlyish. But he's usually up around 9-10 am. He recently got sick with the flu and the red flag was him not answering his phone. My sister lives 3 blocks away and checked on him. A week in the hospital and my 83 yr old independent dad is still using a walker and has pt/ot coming. He'll regain his strength but I know he's doing better because he's back in his routine. Some people stay up really late. Some people sleep for a few hours, get up for a while and lay back down. All that to say NG's family knows her routine. It's possible someone with ill intentions figured out her routine as well. All my opinion and I'm praying for her and the family. These older adults are some strong independent people! And I admire that about them

I've wondered about this too. Tensions are high, and unfortunately we've seen a lot of things lately that would have seemed unbelievable and shocking not so long ago.

Oh dear, I am 40 pages behind, and have given up all hope of catching up. This latest news re bitcoin for ransom is - I don't know what to call it. I'd like to think it's hopeful, I really would. But it could be anyone latching on. It just seems unlikely to be from the actual perp.

I’m calling 911 before I let LE in. They could be disguised as LE, anyone can wear a uniform.

This is even a good option if you are being pulled over by an unmarked car or in a location that isn't safe to stop. You call 911 and tell them where you are and that you are driving to an area that is well lit or you can ask if a LEO is actually pulling you over and then 911 can radio the patrol car to let them know. We can't be too careful today.

Forced entry could simply be someone knocked, she started to open the door and thought better of it but before she could close and lock it, he overpowered her and forced the door open.

This is such an odd place for blood like this. It would appear the person was stationary right there for a period of time in order to have that many drops clustered together. It seems more this would be someone trying to get in and they cut themselves and continued to drip some blood their while they were trying to get in. I am trying to think of any reason Nancy would be standing or being held right there for any length of time dripping blood like that?? If they were taking her to the car out the front door, why would so many drops be there? I'd imagine more of a line of drops going down the walkway toward a car and not so many clustered together. IMO

To me it looks like the deadbolt and doorknob are different from one another. I’m assuming that when that door was originally installed, they would’ve matched. Now, it’s possible that one failed in the past and needed to be replaced before the other one failed. If so, I definitely would’ve only replaced the one that was no longer working, even if I couldn’t get an exact match, because I’m cheap. However, I do think some people that take a lot of pride in their home may replace them both at the same time to give them a uniform appearance, especially on the front door where people enter. All that to say, maybe the deadbolt or knob did have signs of forced entry but it has since been replaced so the house could stay secure. All IMO.

Let's say this is a legit ransom note. Do they have Nancy's life-saving medicine? If so, then it has to be someone with intimate knowledge of her needs. (Like a close friend, or a housekeeper) If the kidnappers are giving until Thursday for the money, then they have means of keeping her alive.
