Hmm the amber alert is unusual for a toddler wandering the woods. What an adorable little girl. I hope it’s nothing nefarious and ends up being a happy ending.

I could be wrong, but I think the public is missing a big piece of the puzzle right now. NC Amber Alert protocols require that there is an investigated and substantiated (in the opinion of LE) abduction.
When a parent or caregiver calls local law enforcement to report their missing child, the law enforcement agency must first investigate the case and determine if the criteria warrant a request for an AMBER Alert. According to North Carolina law, an AMBER Alert can only be issued if all of the following criteria are met:

  • the child is 17 years or younger
  • the child is believed to have been abducted
  • the child was not taken by a parent (unless the child is in danger)
  • the child is not believed to be a runaway or voluntarily missing
  • the abduction was reported to and investigated by a law enforcement agency.

Amber Alert has indeed been issued. I wonder why - doesn't seem to fit the criteria as I know it. IMO

You may have to scroll through the alerts at the top of the page as this site is giving me some issues.
I hope the link works:

From the alert (BBM): If you have any information regarding this abduction, call the Scotland County Sheriff`s Office immediately at (910) 276-3385, or call 911 or *HP.

Ok, now the latest report says white dogs on her shoes. So are there freaking real dogs with her or not? And now i dont understand the Amber Alert. Something doesnt fit!

Ethan was also recently found with his dog Remmy. Let's hope for a happy ending tonight, the sooner the better!

Although, I am very worried about the Amber Alert- that's for kidnappers with a vehicle make and tag, along usually with a description of the person who kidnapped the child.

I am very worried for her as well but NC is not one of the states that require a vehicle, license plate, or description of the abductor. Kind of a double edged sword...positive in that her face & the news is getting broadcasted so quickly but frustrating because there is so little information.

Oh no. Bad enough if she had been lost in the woods, but it appears it's an abduction now?

Darn it, they need to get their information right! How can people be on the alert for her if they don't know where to look?

I fear there’s a lot we don’t know yet.

I’m going to change her name on the thread, trusting the AA site/the NCMEC but will change it back if there’s a correction.

We’ve all seen cases where the spelling changes! Thanks.

Yep, it seems to be pretty common. Understandable though as the main objective is to get the information disseminated as quickly as possible!

That’s always a frightening thing. It’s been raining all day too.
Are you from the area? I am in High Point and it has rained non stop here and I watched the radar and did not see it get any farther East. Not saying it did not rain I just did not see it move east much.

I know. This is intriguing. I hope this gets sorted out soon as to which it is- if she's lost or been kidnapped. Big difference between the two!
