If it is true that he hit officers with his car, then to me this is 100% justified. He was a known dealer, they had a job to do. If he tried fleeing and hit officers with his car, what are they supposed to do?

You don't have to be armed with a gun or knife to be a threat. Imo, a vehicle is an extremely dangerous weapon.

EXACTLY!

So, when will the video be released? Why not show it, if that happened?

If I understand correctly, it's at the discretion of a judge to release the video. Releasing videos asap is a good thing. It nips the speculation in the bud.

Yes he was a victim. The man was shot in the back of the head.If he was a drug dealer he should have had a trial and gone to prison for his crimes if convicted.I don't want to get to a point when we feel some victims deserve sorrow because they were great and others who have a rocky path deserve less.Everyone has people who love them and miss them.
Respectfully, have to disagree there.

<modsnip>

If he not only drove forward to run the cops over and then reversed -- a vehicle can be a deadly weapon.
Not just trying to flee -- but running down the police !
Shot from behind whilst AB Jr. was mowing down the arresting officers-- yes, that will guarantee you will meet deadly force.

If is the operative word here and he well could have made contact with them after they shot him and he lost control of the car.

We have not seen the tape that proves this.

Wouldn't shots to the right arm come from the right side of the vehicle? Any shot was supposed to be aimed at torso, not a limb. Also, wouldn't LE for their own safety, stand well away from the back of the car....to either side of it? We need to see body cam video. JMO

Yes! People should never assume LE is in the wrong when a suspect is unarmed. Bare hands can be a weapon for that matter.

Yes, it looks like there is much more to this case.
A clearer picture of this story.
AB Jr. knew LE had him dead to rights, so to speak.
Wow.
Justified and imo LE should have the right to defend themselves.
They did not just walk up and start shooting with no provocation.

Considering he was shot in the back of the head I doubt his hands would have been a weapon.

We have not seen any evidence that they did not do that. Four seconds and they were all firing.

I agree that the tape should be released and released a long time ago. There is a trend in LE departments to do just that. It worked well for them.

Goodness...why so protective of the evidence of a righteous kill?

I’m so sorry. How terrible. The loss of a child. I’ve seen my parents screaming in agony on the floor over my two little brothers’ loss of lives via addiction. A family altered forevermore. One brother grabbed the rig out of his girlfriend’s hands to keep her from shooting up again. He tried and tried to keep her habit in control. He couldn’t. So in desperation, he grabbed the rig, the uncut cocaine stash and shot the whole bag into his arm. An instant death of the brain the coroner said. She put him in a child’s wading pool and filled it full of water thinking it would bring him back to life, called 911, pulled the phone cords out of the wall and ran. Omg, I hate drugs!
Thank You. I wish I'd been there to save him. I still cry a lot but less than I used to. No one has ever been held accountable. Double kick in the stomach.Don't want to derail the thread though.

exactly. What kind of cop stands directly in front of or behind a running vehicle occupied by a violent felon?! Pretty sure that’s not protocol.
