Looks like he had a court appearance for a stalking charge that morning:

Suicide by cop. That was probably his intention in the end.

I can't give away too much due to my connection but what I can say is that I was trying to help him through some charges where his ex claimed he was stalking her with an apparent end result of withholding contact with his son. I cant speak on the charges from his past but he was always very respectful, well-spoken, and followed through on his word. He was incredibly depressed by the thought of losing his son.

That would probably explain his being dressed in a shirt and tie that day. Had wondered about that.
