Wow! She's been missing for over a month! I wonder what the delay is in getting this out to the public. Maybe a misprint?

There‘s an answer to that question by BJB in the comments.

It doesn't say how old she is. I looked everywhere. Either way, it's a clean and sharp photo. I couldn't find any others, but I only searched briefly. I might as well post her flier. It illustrates sort of what her car looks like.

She probably works at this Walmart: Google Maps
It's the only one in Waynesville, NC.
They have a Facebook page at Walmart Waynesville
I pestered them to share and post it in the store. I'll bug them some more tomorrow.

That her family lives in SC, she is in NC, and they just assumed she was busy because of the holidays.

Also, she has two teens who are with their dad in SC.

She is 37.

There's also some chatter about her going to New Mexico over the holidays.....???

By reading more comments on FB it does seem like police are aware she went to NM for the holidays, so.....why so tight lipped? Why not clear up that she might not have gone missing FROM Walmart, or even North Carolina? Did she drive her Lancer to NM?

I would suggest she had an accident locally in Waynesville but with the Christmas/NM info that is ruled out.

So now what? Who did she visit in NM? Who actually heard from her last?

You know how when you walk into a Walmart store, they all have those bulletin boards of fliers pinned to the wall searching for missing kids? Well, how about they show that they care for their employees by posting Carey's missing persons flier to that same wall? Hmm? Not only is it an act of kindness, and public support to help locate someone who is missing, but it's a demonstration of goodwill that can be used for a cause marketing campaign. Everyone wins, and if it brings Carey home, then wow! It would be fantastic! I'm going to pester Walmart some more today. We'll see what happens.

I haven't seen any confirmation that the NM story is correct. And I still don't get why it took so long to report her missing? Her mother nor her kids had any contact with her for the holidays and that wasn't a concern? She went missing on her lunch break.

Yes, doesn't seem the family wants to talk about that much. (Why it took so long to report her missing).

Maybe she’s gone missing before. Pressure of job, family, relationships. I don’t know.

In my opinion, the Kevin Rudnicki case proves that sharing all information and laying it all out there for us to see, was helpful. The family members came here, shared anything and everything they could. Although a very sad ending - it was refreshing to get facts from the family.
