This is an article with more detail. Adams’ daughter thinks he is being made to do something “not in his nature.” His phone was not on when she tried to call him. Any locals out there? Are there bodies of water we should be concerned about?

I’m local. The area of the boys and girls club is located downtown and not in a great area. However, the area in which they dropped off the son is nice. No crime, really. Residential but close to commercial spots. The area is hilly and woody in some places and there’s a creek - looking body of water close to the drop off point as well as a small lake; Frazier Lake. Here is a map: https://www.google.com/maps/place/S...x89ace5d0756d5665:0xa1daa54e5512d40d?hl=en-us

From today: http://wncn.com/2017/12/27/durham-family-pleads-for-return-of-missing-parents/

They have at least one young child who is missing her parents☹️. The family sent out search parties to search where the phones last pinged (pung? Should be a word). Hoping these two are found soon. It’s been pretty cold here- 40s in the daytime and well below freezing at night.

They are searching the Eno River right near my house. It’s not terribly close to where the phones pinged- about 20 minutes away by car. And the Eno River State Park accesses are closed at dark, which is right around 5:30. I do know of a few victims of crime that have ended up in the park in recent years. Maybe that’s why they are searching there?

Guess I know what I’ll be doing tomorrow....

Like a needle in a haystack - the park and River itself stretches for miles. I found nothing. They are still missing...

Thanks for going out to search. I wonder where the 4Runner could be?

Can you point me to something that gives the location where the phones pinged?

You know, I just assumed the phones last pinged in the areas of the B and G club and where the son was dropped off. I shouldn’t have made that assumption. Maybe they pinged elsewhere and that’s not been reported. I’m going to see if it has been.

They have at least one child together. (who is, I think, 11 years old.) It appears the relationship would be classified as “ its complicated,” although it seems to be very friendly from what I can see on social media.

I cannot find any info on where the phones last pinged.

This Aware poster says the phones pinged between Redwwod/ Red Mill Rds in Durham. This is right near Falls Lake: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Red...cfdab481abd53:0xdd18a3da34c04a40!3e0?hl=en-us

I cannot think of any other reason to be in that area unless one is visiting someone out that way. Geer street is between those roads and leads to a sketchy part of town. Crime, drugs, etc. I wonder if this fits into Carl “doing something against his nature”.

I don't know the area, but Google map shows that in November 2016 the bridge on Redwood Road was closed to traffic as it goes over a finger of Falls Lake. Wonder if that's open yet? The pictures of that area give me the heebie jeebies. Lots of little roads into the woods.

ETA: There's a boat ramp at the end of a road near there. There's no way the truck went off the boat ramp into the water far enough that it hasn't been seen yet, right?

I am actually more familiar with the area than I thought. My parents live near where they last pinged. I agree with Dalagali-- I don't see why they would be in the Redwood Rd. area unless they knew someone there. There's nothing out there that I know of except woods and houses. Now, if you go down Red Mill Rd, there are businesses and residences down that way. I have a family member who works near there. This will lead you toward the downtown Durham area.

In addition to going to go see someone out there, it might be possible they went near the lake to have some "alone time" and met with foul play. :-( It's a brand new truck.

This article says dive teams were sent into Falls Lake and that they could have been miles away from there, but that's where the phones pinged.

The last known location was Sprucewood Drive. Falls Lake, from the ping, is about 30 minutes from there.
