Search underway for man missing since Friday

Curtis Allen Wuellner, 50, was last seen Friday around 8 pm at his home located in the 500 block of Laurel Cove Road, Statesville.

Wuellner could be in need of medical attention. Anyone who has seen him is asked to call Iredell Communications at (704) 878-3100

Deputies searching for missing man near Lake Norman in Iredell County

Curtis Wuellner was last seen around 8 p.m. at his home on Laurel Cove Road near Buffalo Shoals Road.
Crews said they are searching for Wuellner on Lake Norman and the surrounding area.

The search was called off around 9:30 p.m. Saturday and resumed at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Iredell County Sheriff's Office searching for missing Statesville man

When family members woke up Saturday morning, ICSO said they couldn't find Wuellner, and thought he was at their dock. When he had still not returned later in the day, family members and neighbors started looking for him and the ICSO was notified.

This gentleman literally lives right down the street from me. Search boats were out all weekend searching the lake but found nothing. They are also searching by land. At one point it seemed as if they had found something on sonar near their dock as 3 search boats narrowed the perimeter down and concentrated on one area for hours, but called off the search around 4:00 Sunday afternoon. With this case being so close to home, I’ve been a bit obsessed and there is not much information being given out. I hope he left voluntarily and will be found as there doesn’t seem to be any evidence that he fell in the lake.
