The operation, which involves about 10 male and female victims ranging from ages 1 to 14, dates back to 2013, but it wasn’t discovered until Mills’ arrest in January. Investigators said they realized they had a much bigger case after going through Mills’ computer and cell phones.

Upon serving a search warrant at Mills' home on Nicole Drive in Sanford, investigators seized video and photographic of multiple juveniles being sexually assaulted by adult males and an adult female. Investigators say the victims were between 1 and 14 years old.

According to the video at the link, all 5 of the people arrested were seen on video assaulting children and teenagers.

Investigators say Bailey Joe Mills, 33, who was convicted three times on charges related to sexual contact with children, ran the operation out of his former Nicole Drive home. They believe Mills ran the day care and mentoring program to attract young girls to his residence and to create a relationship with their parents. Mills then offered the girls money to have sex with men he found through different social media sites, authorities said.

So um, he'd already been convicted multiple times and been on sex offender registries before he opened a day care service..in his home...and found parents willing to hand over their kids to him. How does that work?

Some people can be *very* convincing liars.

And a person great at lying and putting on a good front, possibly with forged papers, references, etc, -- and who was highly motivated by sexual perversion and/or a giant pile of $$$$...

Yeah I can see how and why these people could have hoodwinked even vigilant parents, perhaps parents desperate for affordable child care so they go work and support their families.

I don't think for a second that *every* parent who left their kids there was somehow lacking as a parent..

If you're implying the parents were complicit in the child .... idk. I prefer to see them as victims until there's evidence otherwise.

The man at the center of a child investigation at an Eastern North Carolina daycare is nowhere on the state's sex offender registry site. Bailey Joe Mills was convicted twice before dating back to 1997, and thanks to a 2006 state law, a judge took him off the registry
