On the Sunday evening that the bodies were found, the suspect fled to Delaware, where he was eventually apprehended and returned to NC.

As a side note to the case, Delaware authorities have charged two people in connection with harboring a fugitive.

Five new songs were posted on what appears to be Ross’ Soundcloud — under the name Mi$tr3 — on Sept. 19, the day after Woods and Clark were found murdered on an Orange County trail. (The account was discovered by local blog NC Beat.) The song “Glass” mentioned lining up “headshots,” while in “In Th3 Akron I Trust” Ross mentions that he has “sh** I can’t talk about/I cannot discuss.” And in “Th3 D3vil Is R3al,” he raps about waking up feeling like a demon. The Soundcloud is riddled with comments from users alleging that he was rapping about the deaths. However, Ross has tracks going back years with similar themes. When contacted via Instagram about Ross, one of his friends and followers told Rolling Stone: “He’s a good artist on the rise. That’s all I know.” Law enforcement declined to comment on the Soundcloud.
 
I’m intrigued by motive in this case. On the face of it, it’s easy to assume it was jealousy/love triangle. But given the suspect’s multiple posts with violent content, I wonder if there is more to it.

I just had a chance to view the press conference, and I thought it was very well done. I am very surprised that Ross's attorneys did not appeal the decision to move the case to superior court. I wonder if this was part of a legal strategy.

One of women has same last name as suspect: “Ross,” but is 22 years old — clearly not is mother.

Observations/takeaways:

- Issiah "recently" moved to Mebane (not specified how recently)
- Was enrolled at Eastern Almanac from Aug. 29 to Sept. 3 (less than a week)
- Authorities believe that the shooting happened early Sept. 17 near the power line easement, lining up with what the witness (DW) reported about hearing a bunch of gunshots nearby after midnight.
- Devin's mother had suggested that Devin and Lyric were moved to that location, but this would suggest that they were shot where they were found.
- Mebane, NC to Delaware is at least 370 miles away

more speculative/ideas

- I've always thought it most likely that Devin and Lyric have mutual friends, since they were three years apart in age and were attending different high schools.
- It could also be that they were friends in elementary or middle school and recently reconnected, but that seems unlikely given the age gap. At my school, I knew a handful of people from other grades, but generally only one year older or younger than me (not three).
- Motive seems even fuzzier/harder to speculate with the reporting that Issiah had recently moved and was only at the high school for a week.

Interesting observations.

In the days of social media, peoples' extended networks are bigger than they were when I was in school. People meet online, they hear about each others' parties (even in the dark ages before FB when I was growing up in a small town, it was not unusual for word to spread from one town to another about teen parties and for us to go to their parties or them to come to ours).

There aren't a huge number of things for teens to do in Hillsborough, Mebane, Efland, or any of the surrounding towns. Kids make their own fun (and obviously do all the things that teens do everywhere else, play video games, follow each other on social media, etc.). I think the two could have met in any number of ways.

I am almost wishing I didn't see him, he looks so emotionless, hard to believe he is just 17 and has done this horrible thing.
 
Does anyone have any idea what is on his shirt or what it’s supposed to be ? Just curious based off his music , social media posts (dark, satanic themes) — didn’t know if it was anything more or just a shirt …
