Let's see, I wonder if BM worked in the office and was possibly embezzling $$, FM was alerted by the investigation, so she had to off him before the whole house of cards came tumbling down and all was revealed? Just wondering......and JMO.

3:51 p.m. EDT July 23, 2016
After searching the scene, deputies located a handgun "believed to belong" to the couple. The gun was found outside the home on the ground in "some rows of ivy" between the McCutcheon's home and the neighbors', according to warrants.

It doesn't seem likely that a hit man would leave a gun behind, or use one that came from the house - unless someone from the house gave it to him.

A good hit an would know that LE would find the gun so close to home. I cannot post local gossip, but the folks my kid is renting a room from that is down the road from the victim's home are not worried at all that a killer is on the loose.

The only other possibility besides her killing him, would be he killed himself and she made it look like murder so life insurance policy payout wouldn't be voided.

Search warrants were requested to search the couple's residence, DNA from Brenda McCutcheon and the clothes she was wearing on July 16. Investigators seized various items including two pistols, a shotgun, a revolver, a rifle, and ammunition. A computer, cellphones, a couple hard drives, flash drives, various handwritten documents, rubber gloves, miscellaneous trash, bedding and clothes were also seized.

On July 20, a detective spoke to an official with the N.C. Department of Revenue who confirmed the investigation. It was "in reference to possible embezzlement and obtaining property by false pretense violations concerning the Cosmetic Surgery of Asheville and Frank and Brenda McCutcheon," warrants state.

Detectives went to the medical building to obtain any business records and electronics but learned that the records were kept in two storage units. They also learned that Brenda McCutcheon had planned to shred 40 boxes of documents on July 27, warrants state.

They drove older model cars. What was their lifestyle? Family's stunned by warrants and investigations...very bizarre case.

I was thinking maybe she was a shopaholic or something? gambling habit? Who knows but I'll be standing by to see what happens.....something was going on in that house/business.

http://www.cosmeticsurgeryofasheville.com/about-us/

He practiced in his home state of Arkansas until 1999 when he accepted an opportunity to return to North Carolina, the state in which he did his residency training in Plastic Surgery.

Dr. McCutcheon is especially pleased to introduce the staff of Cosmetic Surgery of Asheville. Each is an exceptional individual and, while all of our staff work together as a team to provide our patients with the best care experience possible, each has particular areas of experience and expertise in which they excel.

BRENDA – Brenda is the Office Manager of Cosmetic Surgery of Asheville and has managed the office from its opening in 1999. She is a Registered Nurse and serves as the Facility Director for our AAAASF accredited surgical facility. She works directly with our patients both before and after surgery to make certain everything goes smoothly and that the surgical experience is as stress free and pleasant as possible. Brenda also performs all of our laser hair reduction treatments.

She is not listed as his wife, I am assuming this is his wife. Has it been reported when they married? Still looking.
