I don't get a chance to read up on this case as often as I'd like. Can someone tell me if they've searched the home where Erica was last seen? Used sonar?

The FBI is offering an additional $25,000 reward in connection with the Erica Parsons case.

The Rowan County Sheriff's Office was already offering $25,000 in the case.

I think the amount wsoc reports that Rowan County has offered is an error of the reporter. I believe Rowan County has been offering $10,000 and the FBI is adding an additional $25,000, increasing the reward to $35,000.

Anyway, here's Erica's new missing poster:

Kimster, I believe they have searched the house where Erica was last seen but I don't recall seeing anything about sonar searches.

Yes, the home was searched in August and dogs were brought back in October/November (I'll have to look). I'm not sure about sonar. BRB.

Correction: Home searched on July 30, 2013 (As far as we know that was where she was last seen, according to the brother who reported her missing)

Edit #1: Second search with bloodhounds was on Oct. 22, 2013:

They spent more than 12 hours at the home collecting evidence, poking holes in the back yard and marking the ground with orange flags.

Something led up to LE poking the holes. That might have been sonar. I can't remember. I'll keep looking.

Not surprised to see this at all, but I'm glad regardless. You KNOW those two have issues when even their own family members don't want them to get their kids back.

Why YES YES YES!!!

I'm thankful these two children are being protected. I'm saddened the others weren't. I'm saddened ERICA is still missing and wasn't protected. :tantrum:

Quoting myself
It was a t-handle rod that LE used to probe the soil at their house. There's a photo at the link.

So what is everyones thoughts with the FBI offering an additional $25,000 in connection with the Erica Parsons case?

1. Do they think someone knows something and more $ will make them talk?

2. By offering more $ its the FBI's way of keeping the case in the the pubic eye?

3. Are they at a stand still and they need do to something in hopes on getting more information?

Just thinking out loud on what prompted additional reward money to be offered...

LE says:

It is clear that Casey and Sandy Parsons have not been truthful and provided the information that would lead to the whereabouts to find Erica," investigators said.

Casey says:

"Sandy and I have been completely truthful in everything we know about this case. Rowan County has said from the start we are lying but we aren't," Casey Parsons told WBTV.

and Considering says:

Casey can't even keep her stories straight on the same day. In the video at this link:

http://www.wbtv.com/story/24588396/s...eward-expected

she says they've been on cloud 9 since the new reward was offered. But in the written article it says:

"Sadly the increase in the reward is probably to make the Rowan County Sheriff's office look good. We feel they stopped looking for Erica on the second day. Hopefully they are still looking for her but I doubt it. We are and will never give up!!"

Which is it, Casey? :banghead:

From wcnc...

This is Casey Parsons' response to the FBI announcing an increase in the reward money:

"I think this is excellent. I am very excited to hear this. You have made my day with this announcement, thanks."

This turns my stomach. Where is Erica? Not sure why they increased the reward for information. I'm not sure that will help. Wonder why they thought it would?:tantrum:

I dont think anyone but Casey and Sandy know what happened to her and where she is. Sadly, This reward isnt going to make a difference I fear. :(

"Law enforcement hoping boosted reward creates leads in Erica Parsons case"

She said she and her husband found out when the whole world did that Erica was missing and that there was no Irene Goodman.

“We felt horrible. We are not lying. We are telling the truth,” she said.

There are so many statements that I could quote. I couldn't decide on my favorite. You'll just have to read the article for yourself.

Can't help but think the GIANT boost in reward dollars indicates they are just waiting on one final piece of info/tip/statement from a witness to seal the deal. I just can't come up with another reason at this juncture.
