Wellington Dickens III is charged with four counts of murder for three of his biological children and an 18-year-old stepchild. Johnston County deputies said they found human remains in the trunk of a car and a 3-year-old who was alive inside the house at the time they responded to the call.

A man was arrested in Johnston County Monday night for killing his four children.

According to the Johnston County Sheriff's Office, the 911 center received a call from 38-year-old Wellington Delano Dickens III, who told 911 operators that he killed his children.

I hate to say it but his eyes looks so gone already in his last photos, no light to be seen. What someone said he’s an Iraq vet and been through a lot of trauma. I’m so sorry to the whole family.

None of the 3 younger children returned to school this fall, wondering if a school was reaching out to this father and he realized at some point it was all going to come out so he called 911 and reported himself.

According to the report above :

Sheriff Steve Bizzell said at a news conference Wednesday that Dickens killed three of his biological children, Leah Dickens, 6, in May; Zoe Dickens, 9, in August and Wellington Dickens, 10, in either late August or early September, as well as his stepchild Sean Brassfield, 18, in September.

Bizzell also revealed that Dickens’ wife, Stephanie Rae Jones Dickens, died at home in April 2024. Stephanie, who was three months pregnant, was found dead by Dickens, and he told authorities she had severe bleeding the night before but wouldn’t get medical help.

Her death was attributed to complications from a miscarriage, according to Bizzell.

It happens, especially in cases of extreme child abuse where the kids are essentially prisoners in their own home. Four is a high number killed, but not unheard of. Paul Perez is on trial right now for killing five of his infant children over a long period of time.

This 30 minute segment really tells it all and more about this horrific case.
The first child was killed I believe in May and the last in September.
The neighborhood is a tight knit community with fairly new homes , close together.
He is definitely a monster from another planet.
I'm also puzzled about the oldest(step-child) being the last to be murdered ?
All I can think is that at that age he must have been kept drugged up , as the father admitted he himself took a lot of drugs,
I can't think of any other way he could have gotten to him any other way.

That was something I wondered about. Whether he was either so abused he couldn't leave or was disabled and helpless to do anything. It's not unusual for older children or even adults to be unable to escape extremely abusive home environments, but being significantly disabled certainly removes any remote hope of it.

What must it have been like for Sean in that home, as his siblings disappeared one after another? Did he know or witness what happened to them? Sadly, I'll bet the oldest was likely fully aware IMO. Like the case of Maurice & Maliaka Taylor who were decapitated because the parent(s) thought they were demons and the parents made the 2 younger siblings look at their bodies. They were forced to look, and were there and could hear the screaming and killings.

I'm struggling trying to understand what's happening to mankind. It's like people are getting crazier and meaner by the minute and I don't understand why. (I have my suspicions)

So, either that baby died a couple of years ago and the mother was aware of what was going on, or there's another mother in play?
