McDowell deputies seek missing man last seen Wednesday

MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — McDowell County sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public's help in finding a missing man.

Deputies say Gary Dean Jimison, 49, was last seen leaving his house on Deacon Drive just before 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 11. His wife reported him missing at 7:30 p.m. the same day.

Jimison is described as a white man who is 6 feet, 6 inches tall, and weighs about 190 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes, and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a gray West Rock jacket.

Anyone with information concerning Jimison’s whereabouts is asked to call the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office at 828-652-2235 or the McDowell County 911 communications center at 828-652-4000.

Marion man was arrested and charged with recording a now 17-year-old acquaintance inappropriately in her home, authorities said Friday.


Detective Billie Brown of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Gary Dean Jimison, 49, of 38 Sun Ridge Drive in Marion, with four counts of taking indecent liberties with a child and one count of secret peeping.
