IMO, after doing some photo comparisons, the area in the trailer park from which she was taken may be this area, IMO (see red flag):

If this is the area from which she was taken, then this would be an approx. 2 min drive, and .2 mi in distance from that location to the intersection of Hornets Rd and Elizabethtown Rd.

All just my opinion and speculation based on crime scene photos.

Dear rainynights,

Thank you for all of this information!

Looks as if there are woods to the right of Hania's home and possibly behind as well.

The abduction happened so early in the morning so likely no one else was near the path by the woods.

Odd that the two trailers in the crime scene photographs were boarded up. I wonder how many of the homes there are dilapidated and/or not lived in.
It's been discussed that the boards are likely from recent hurricane damage. jmo

Also just found this video, which was recently broadcasted live. In this video, WRAL Reporter Gilbert Baez confirms which trailer home HNA was kidnapped from. He actually points to it. Great video to get an idea of the crime scene where HNA was taken. Jmo

Where is everyone seeing a yellow bandana? The video that is being shown is in black and white?

True. Two years ago and this past hurricane season, Lumberton was hit extremely bad. The homes themselves look to be in pretty good condition though. Maybe the insides are terrible though. Who knows.

Good to know.

Perhaps the "path" has branches and debris still from the hurricane so not too many people use it.

The younger sister who was a witness said the perp who took her sister was wearing black clothes and had a yellow bandanna over his face. It was mentioned in the earliest reports of the abduction, not about the recent video of the pedestrian.

Appreciate it. Didn't see it - there's a lot to read in here.

The bandanna was seen by a witness at the time of the abduction, not on the video.

EDITED: Where bolded by me, I originally said witnesses, but there was only one witness (the victim's younger sister).

Hmm...good point. If that is the case, then really only a local who knew the path well would use it.

So this guy grabbed a girl with witnesses around and just happen to be walking and was able to take her with the family car? Hmmm

Thanks for the great find.

So the home is situated in a private area, somewhat isolated, in that it couldn't be viewed from the windows of the home beside it.

It is right by the wooded area.

This makes me feel that the perpetrator waited in the woods, watching.

The first page of the thread has info about the case, if you need a recap of what happened.

The victim's little sister heard Hania scream and apparently saw enough to be able to give a basic description of the clothing. No other witnesses that we know of.

Would a scent dog be able to sniff the driver seat of the SUV and then find out in which direction the guy left?

This guy says the perp came out of the woods. I had only heard that he came out of "nowhere".

It is so close to the wooded area.
But how long was he there? If the video of the perp is from the same morning, how long did it take him to walk to where Hania was and then hide? You'd think he'd want to be there "early" to lay in wait, but the timing makes me think he arrived just as she was in the yard (which, I admit, is my speculation, not a fact). Maybe he saw her get into the car to start it, and sort of lurked in the shadows watching, and when he saw she got out of the car, he rushed her.

IDK.

They said the guy was dressed in all black with the yellow bandana. Is the guy in the video wearing all black?

  • #176
Maybe he had a bandana in his pocket and put it on when he got closer to his destination?

Thank you for this info. Kinda ruins my theory that he abducted her, abandoned the car, and then walked to school (arriving late, most likely). I was thinking that who else is walking around in the early morning other than high-schoolers going to school? Doesn't seem to be the case, though - the guy in the video seems older than high school, but still a young adult. And the abandoned car is in a place too far to walk to school?

Lots of progress yesterday - hope today brings Hania home.

jmo

And he didn't have a backpack. Most all high school students have backpacks when they walk to school.

The witness said the perp pushed Hania into the car. Was that before or after she started the engine?

I was thinking she started the car, got out, and the perp pushed her back in. Do I have that right?

If that is right, why wouldn't he grab her when she first came outdoors? Why wait, if he was waiting just for her?

I know you've already received great advice about this, but I'm curious whether this "someone" you know of walks with a limp! Even if not, that's a very big coincidence (living at site of abduction with family who lives at site of found vehicle). This doesn't necessarily mean that person is involved, but quite possibly a different someone who knows that person. Hoping for the best possible outcome for HA.
a leg brace..

Is it possible the girl had an online “friend”. And this is how he knew her? If he knew her that is.
