For what it’s worth, I think it may be a stretch to think that Person of Interest is the assailant.

The dogs had no scent to follow from the abandoned SUV, so I’m thinking most likely he had an accomplice there to switch vehicles - or maybe had a vehicle he left there?

The spot where he abandoned the SUV doesn’t seem random at all to me. I can’t see somebody picking a plot like that right next to other properties that look like there might be people around to witness. He knew of that spot, and I think he probably had been there previously when there was a mobile home there. He’s familiar with that spot and comfortable with it.

He came out of the woods with the bandana covering his face and made off with the girl and the SUV quickly. Not a lot of time to put a plan together, I think he already had a plan.

And with that, it doesn’t fit that he started out walking so far west of the mobile home park - then ended up on the east side lurking in the trees.

I think it’s quite likely the POI walking is a potential witness, not the suspect we’re looking for.

I am curious to know if dogs were used to track the perpetrator’s scent backwards, that is, from Hania’s trailer back into the woods (behind the trailer), and perhaps onto a trail to see where he came from?
(That is one long sentence.)

Talking on the speaker phone makes me wonder too about planning. Who would he be talking to in the morning before 7am?? Even early risers don't especially like early-morning phone conversations...unless necessary.

I'm on the fence about planned or random opportunity and I would like to know who he was talking to as he walked along in the early morning. I keep thinking that he likely started on his morning walk when it was still dark. Why?

So we thinking it was a cellphone, The Second scene in the POI video makes me think Cigarette. However, the first scene & third captured scene defiantly look like cellphone usage if you go in thinking it is such. If it is a cellphone, would he really be having an unrelated conversation? I mean he would be getting off the phone very abruptly and this person would know this coupled with this video being in circulation. If it is part of the co ordination, is it his look out in the park? Or after the abduction? Im leaning towards lookout since the chances of her being unaccompanied outside could possibly be slim to none.

I was out of the loop on this at the very beginning. Where was the explorer stolen from, was it stolen from the owner in Summerville or was it stolen in Lumberton and the owner's address is Summerville? tia

It was stolen in Lumberton. Right as Hania was abducted.

Thank you. So the assumption is that it's related to her going missing still - so there must have been some evidence that is related to her found in the SUV.

Yes, she went outside, started the car and then she was taken by the individual in the same car. It didn't seem like the suspect had a car of his own in the area to use. So, it leaves me with a lot of questions as to how planned this was.

There must have been. Fibres come off of us all of the time, there will be something in that car relating to Hania and the suspect. Whether it is a match for anyone, I would say not, at this time.

I would certainly hope so, and perhaps they did and that’s why they consider the POI to be a POI?

The perp pushed her into the car and drove it away. SUV later found hidden, but no Hania.

1 Week Later: What We Know About the Kidnapping of Hania Aguilar
Not knowing who the kidnapper could be presents an extreme problem as Hania could now be anywhere in the state or country.

Over the weekend, the State Highway Patrol used their helicopter to transport evidence from the scene to Quantico in Virginia for the FBI to study.

Plea grows 'more urgent by the minute:' 1 week into search for abducted 13-year-old

@FBICharlotte
Our plea grows more urgent. Help the Lumberton PD &
#FBI #FindHania. We need to talk to everyone who lives near Rosewood Mobile Home Park & Quincey Drive. We are walking in the neighborhood to make contact with everyone. You may have the info we need to bring Hania home.

KTBB.com - News Weather Talk
It's been one week since a 13-year-old girl was kidnapped in front of her North Carolina home before school.

Now, investigators' pleas for more information grow "more and more urgent by the minute," according to FBI spokeswoman Shelley Lynch.

The FBI has also requested surveillance footage from residents and local business owners so investigators can construct a detailed timeline of when and how the stolen SUV was abandoned.

The FBI is offering a $15,000 reward and the North Carolina governor’s office is offering an additional $5,000 reward.

Who besides the 8 year old sister witnessed the abduction? Could be possible that HNA is still somewhere in the mobile home park, heaven forbid. Wish the video of the stolen car was more clear to see a description of the driver and passengers. The video of the POI shows it appears to be raining. Could the rain have destroyed any trackable scent of HNA at the MHP or where the stolen vehicle was found? Obviously the vehicle is going to have DNA and other evidence of HNA. As for when the stolen vehicle was found, as many LEO looking for the vehicle, hard to believe it was driving around Lumberton for 4 days unnoticed. Yet for that matter, hard to believe it took 4 days to locate only 10 minutes away.
Not feeling good about this one ending well. My mind keeps going to human trafficking, sadly.

Investigators canvassed the area near Alamac Road, about 15 minutes away from where Hania was kidnapped. Thursday morning, they found the green Ford Expedition they say was used to kidnap Hania. Friday, Lumberton Police Chief Michael McNeill urged the community to be vigilant, reiterating that even the smallest piece of evidence could turn things around and help find the missing girl.

Hania left the mobile home to start the car. She was then somehow attacked - a scream from her was heard. The perp drove off with Hania. Immediately help was summoned. There was no time at all for Hania to be left in the trailer park. The SUV was seen on video and the time stamp shows the image was taken right about the time the 9-11 call was in progress.

The abduction happened in an instant.

A neighbor.

"She was outside her home just before 7:00 a.m. waiting for her family to drive to school. That’s when a neighbor heard her scream, looked outside and saw a man dressed in all black and wearing a yellow bandana force Hania into a relative’s vehicle that was parked in the driveway."

Officials seek to talk to neighbors of Lumberton teen, who has been missing for a week
The search for Hania continues Monday as investigators from multiple agencies seek to talk to all the residents who live in Hania’s neighborhood and to neighbors who live on the road where SUV used in the kidnapping was found.

In addition to Lumberton police and the FBI, personnel from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office and Fort Bragg Military Police Investigations are trying to talk to everyone who lives in the Rosewood Mobile Home Park, Hania’s neighborhood, and Quincey Drive, the road where the stolen 2002-2003 Ford Expedition was found Thursday morning.

These residents may have information that could help find Hania, according to the FBI.

“Fort Bragg Military Police Investigations”—that’s interesting...thoughts? Are they just helping out?

I was under the impression that the rule is not to bring gangs into the comments on WS.

I think it depends on the thread. There are cases that are gang-related. We have threads about MS-13 murders and missing teens who were caught up in that gang. In those cases there is usually some info released saying they suspect the missing teen had gang ties. In this case they have said they have no reason to suspect a gang connection. LE have possibly acknowledged a gang presence in the area by making that statement. It's up to the mods to decide if we can discuss gangs in this thread.

Here are some threads about teens murdered or missing with a gang connection:
Recovered/Located - NY - Louis Germosen, 19, Long Island, 28 Jun 2018
MD - Damaris 'Alexandra' Reyes, 15, found murdered, Gaithersburg, 10 Dec 2016
IL - Darnelle Flowers, 17, & Raysuan Turner, 16, fatally shot, Chicago, 19 Aug 2018
Found Deceased - VA - Miguel Ruiz Carrillo, 18, Mount Vernon, 3 Aug 2017
NY - Lesandro Guzman-Feliz, 15, murdered by gang-caught on video, Bronx, 20 June 2018 *arrests*

In almost all the threads I'm finding the case is in a big city/very urban area and the missing teen themselves had a connection to the gang that made them either targets or made them go on the run because they participated in a murder. And it is almost always stated by family or the police that there are gang connections. I don't think anyone is suggesting Hania or her family had gang ties but I'm baffled by how much it has been discussed in this thread. JMO. I hope this is the last I post about it.
