Oh wow. I hope he is considering taking on this case. I have huge respect for him and the way he found Lucas so fast. It was truly amazing. He came in and found LH within one day of arriving on scene.

Of course he may not be able to have success like that all the time but I hope he takes on the case and tries. He is the real deal and wants to help in these kinds of cases.

He and/or Tim Miller would both be an asset.

I didn't realize that step mom was a POI. I knew she was fired from the PD but I didn't read she was a POI. When did I miss this?

(Hi Skully,

I just posted in Sara’s thread re: your question, here is the link for anyone who is following both cases or is new and wants to take a comparative look fwiw:

I see a cell phone in this picture. Was she on any social media?
I saw that, I also wondered if she set up that photo to post on some type of social media. You don't usually have a leather stool outside like that. Would like to know more about it and it is curious that it was the day before she disappeared, have no idea if related or not, just odd timing, imo.

indeed. May mean nothing but it sure is curious.

I wonder if Hania had her phone with her.

I wondered that as well. I also wonder if she had her school backpack in the SUV. Since she was waiting outside the vehicle to go to school it would make sense if she also had put her backpack in the back seat. I know it sounds weird, but I somehow hope she has her school backpack with her-- I mean if they are keeping her alive somewhere I hope they let her have it to have some familiar items of her own with her. If her phone was in her backpack and not on her it might not have been located by the suspect right away. JMO.

Not sure if this is relevant but Lumberton, and the general area where she went missing, was ravaged by flooding in September of this year by Hurricane Florence. The Lumbee River and nearby Cape Fear Rivers were relentless for weeks after the storm. I am sure the area still has significant damage from this. Just providing this information as general knowledge of what's been going on there. I know crime and looting tends to go up during times following disasters, as well as stress. I have been through Lumberton, Elizabethtown, and these surrounding areas on vacation yearly as a child and young adult. We visited White Lake, NC, which is a tourist destination very near where this occurred.

BBM. I was following the hurricane threads here and I was shocked by the stories of looting that came out in those areas after the hurricanes. Here are some stories:
https://www.cbs17.com/news/local-ne...-hurricane-florence_20180915205543/1448110792
https://abc11.com/lumberton-resident-so-much-devastation-in-this-county/4288737/
https://www.fayobserver.com/news/20180919/troops-providing-aid-in-storm-ravaged-lumberton

77 cases?! And those are just the missing kids, not including adults. I wonder if we have threads for them all here? I'm going to make that a project of mine later today to add any threads for those who don't have one.

Why can we not get an answer on Hania’s father in respect to his whereabouts with her missing?

It is reported Hania was at her aunts house. Where did her Mother live and any siblings she had? Why was she at her aunts? Was this a common occurrence?

She has an 8 year old sister and a stepfather who have both spoken to the press. I get the feeling Hania's bio father may not be in the US or perhaps is simply not in the picture anymore. There have not been any mentions of any custody issues at all. Her biological father has not been mentioned. The living situation is unclear. We have lots of speculation-- that possibly her mother worked early morning and her aunt took the children to the bus stop. Or possibly they have all moved in together since the hurricane (many homes were damaged). We don't know for sure. Early in the case it was reported Hania lives at lot 102 and was taken from lot 38 in her aunt's SUV. Her state ID shows her address and that may be where news stations got that she lives at 102. Other stories later reported that she was taken "from her yard" as if she lives at 38 with the aunt. They may all live there together now. It's just not very clear in my opinion.

I recall FBI Andy answered a reporter's question regarding the Sunday photos in a recent pc. To your points, it would be interesting, IMO, to know further details surrounding the photos, but doesn't sound like there is much there other than it being a typical Sunday. Jmo

Playing it back, here's what I hear (starts at 10:40) :

REPORTER: The pictures that were taken the day before she was kidnapped. What was the circumstance of those? She's smiling, she's kind of posing.

FBI SUPERVISORY RESIDENT AGENT ANDY DE LA ROCHA: Yeah, I just believe that they were family photos. Much like we would take of our children on a Sunday. There's nothing else of significance other than that was the most recent set of photos that we had of her.

If the guy walking is the perp, why would he be walking out in the open even if he didnt know there was video recording? Several cars passing that could possibly identify him (ironically no one has - kinda like hiding in plain sight) Agree with previous poster, he would have to have a reason for being off the beaten path unless taking a shortcut over to the Food Lion.

If the guy walking was looking to steal a car, google maps shows a car dealership and a used car lot close to where he walked, again, why go off the beaten path.

Maybe the guy walking committed another crime and doesnt want to come forward for that reason.

IMO the suspect is someone in the MHP waiting or living there.

Just because LE is not holding press conferences doesnt mean they arent still actively working the case, they arent going to play this case out in the press. That's what we are doing!

LE is going to keep everything tight lipped but you can sure see the stress in their faces, especially the spanish speaking female.

I hope so too, and that he lives in NC is a plus. The difference in this and Lucas' case, however, is that in Lucas' case we knew who the perpetrator was. Unfortunately, DM wouldn't be starting out with that knowledge in this case. MOO

This area flooded in Florence & then had damage in Michael. In Florence, part of I/95 closed due to the flooding sustained in those areas. Phone lines, electric, the ability to get supplies were nearly impossible. Many of us had to wait for FEMA to go to the area first before traveling to the area to work. And no, it is not safe. At all.

Well I for one would be interested to see if that POI was walking the same street paths days prior to the kidnapping. That tells a story in of itself.

And....did he walk there the days afterward?

Lots of questions.

If it was something he did regularly, like every morning on his way to work, one would think he would simply come forward. I think it is suspicious that he has not and that no one has ID'd this guy.

On the debate about whether he limps or not, JMO he has no limp but rather the 'tough guy walk'. I also noticed at about the 8 second mark, he looks over his left shoulder and simultaneously his left arm stays close to his body but is slightly back, with the palm awkwardly back and palm facing camera - another manuever I associate with 'tough guy walk'. It looks like he heard a noise and thought he might get jumped, probably a concern of his walking there.

Also on his shoes, to me they look like white hi-top or basketball shoes which are not the footwear of so many people like a car mechanic or construction guy walking to work or ride. Those shoes are pretty limited in practicality.

Any locals here? I'm just wondering if they've been playing the POI video regularly on the news there?

“Local” news for Lumberton is out of Myrtle Beach. News 13 covers the case daily.

Yes. On a constant basis. Every main highway overpass sign shows an Amber Alert. State Government main pages show her Amber Alert & Picture - so any form of government employee sees it while working. It’s on every local news channel.
