Dear @Inthedetails,

I am very curious as well as to what evidence was found, especially DNA.

Any DNA (from skin cells, etc.) found in the vehicle will be crucial in this case.

Even if there is no match in CODIS, the F.B.I. could utilize DNA phenotyping.

Excerpt from link (below):

"DNA Phenotyping is the prediction of physical appearance from DNA. It can be used to generate leads in cases where there are no suspects or database hits, to narrow suspect lists, and to help solve human remains cases."

DNA Phenotyping - Parabon® Snapshot® DNA Analysis Service
Whoa, ZenC! I had no idea! Thanks for the info. Fingers crossed they captured some DNA.

Geese. No offense but what is up with Lumberton? FBI has been asking residential and commercial people with video to help. And they get silence. Get out the warrants! Do some of those off the record tactics LE uses to make these people cooperate. The ways of playing nice is over. IMO. Ps. After reading of incidents on here, I’m Never going to N.C. !
Please, no "off the record tactics" (whatever those are)! If the investigation isn't done by following all the rules, evidence will be thrown out. We want the perp caught, but we also want him convicted. We need evidence properly collected to do that.

It's frustrating that LE has to keep asking for video, info, etc. There are probably reasons that make sense to people why they are not coming forward. Maybe nobody has info. Maybe someone is protecting a loved one. Maybe people are afraid of LE (especially regarding citizenship issues or perhaps their own legal issues). Frustrating to think that someone might not speak up because they put themselves in jeopardy of being deported. (I am not saying that is happening, but it's certainly a possibility to consider.)

Very valid. The other thing that has to be taken in consideration is that many people just don't have cameras and/or monitoring system. It is a very, very low income area. The average income is 30k a year.

On several occasions in the last two weeks, we have asked you to call us whoever has surveillance video in lumberton or the surrounding areas of Robeson County. Unfortunately, many have not communicated with us, even when FBI special agents left in homes and business business cards and reward flyers requesting a call return.

If we don't get to everyone soon, the video could be lost because many systems erase old sequences automatically. We are desperately trying to locate additional recordings of the stolen suv to determine when and how it arrived at quincey drive where it was found on November 8 We are extending our requests for videos to all robeson county specifically by road 41 / Elizabethtown road and side streets, especially by popes crossing road, wire grass road, and lovett road.
Please call the phone line at 910-272-5871.

Thank you for your continued assistance to help us #FindHania. It is vitally important we find every piece of video that may help us determine the exact movements of the stolen SUV from Rosewood Mobile Home Park to Quincey Drive where it was found on November 8th. We are expanding our plea for surveillance video to hunters, if you have deer cameras in Robeson County and have any footage between November 5th-8th, call the tip line number at 910-272-5871. Let us determine whether or not the footage you have can provide us with any investigative clues. We continue our plea to home and business owners with cameras. We need any video from Robeson County, specifically along Highway 41/Elizabethtown Road and any side streets, especially along Popes Crossing Road, Wire Grass Road, and Lovett Road. Tuesday, FBI Agents, SBI agents, and Lumberton Police Detectives searched additional areas on foot, with drones, and a specially training dog.

A family member. LE said in a press conference in answer to a reporter question that it was a typical "family photo" like people may regualarly take of their kids on a Sunday. There was no special occaision and nothing unusual about the photos. They were simply released because of being the most current ones of Hania.

I guess LE will not play this out in the media other than asking for video.

And as with the Jayme Closs case, it will likely go cold because of it.

This is ridiculous! Somebody saw something...somebody knows something...somebody saw somebody, somewhere doing something they shouldn't have been doing. Somebody is protecting somebody and that somebody doing the protecting is just as GUILTY as anyone else who took this innocent little girl in the first place. It's just pathetic. JMO

That's my first thought, too. After thinking back to when my uncle's truck was stolen sometime in the middle of the night from my mom's driveway in Lumberton fifteen years ago or so, and hearing that there are a lot of stolen vehicles, especially trucks, in the area, I think that's what the theft was about. But he did rip out of there with her in the car, so ...

And one more thing, a bit belated --

Welcome to Websleuths, StarryStarryNight !!
Thanks for the welcome, Borndem!

Community not losing hope in search for Hania Aguilar

Lumberton, N.C. — It's been more than two weeks since a 13-year-old girl was kidnapped from her Lumberton home, but as Thanksgiving approaches, the community is not losing hope.
[...]
Officials with the FBI have upped the reward for information to $30,000, and the governor is offering an additional $5,000, but there has been no sign of the teen.

Near Hania's home, parents are now keeping a closer eye on their children.

Deer cameras -- excellent request from the Lumberton Police Department.
It really does sound like all of LE involved in this case are really going to all lengths to find this young girl. Oh, I hope it pays off in a good way. Also, the reward money is piling up -- someone knows something, as we've all agreed. Money is dear to many in that area, so I hope something will come of the reward offering. Sometimes just one good tip will do it.
Crossing my fingers again and again.
And prayers for Hania, her family, Law Enforcement, and all of Robeson County to help out and to let her be found safe.
