I hate to even type this...and haven't posted on this case until now...but from the very beginning of reading this thread...my first thought was sex offender and I still feel that way. Praying I'm very wrong.

What Are Some Gang Bandanna Colors?

Latin Kings gang members may wear either black or yellow bandanas. The suspect here wore black clothing with the yellow bandana. Not sure if it means anything or not...

...Changed my mind - your research may be highly relevant. Google images of Latin Kings and see, eveything they wear is black & gold, or black & yellow. Google Latin Kings North Carolina, very violent and lots of articles about arrests, etc.

As an aside, Pembroke State University (UNC Pembroke) is located nearby in the same county, Robeson. The school colors are also black & gold, which gives this street gang the ability to make excuses for wearing those colors.

Latin Kings began in Chicago but has spread to 34 states. This link says their color is yellow:

Yes, I saw the Latin Kings, but didn’t know if they would be local to Lumberton. Also was unsure about wearing yellow exclusively, as the wording made it sound like they wear black & yellow bandanas in particular.
Interesting find! Thank you for digging deeper!! MOO

In that part of town, it’s less likely to be gang related. If it was on the south or west side I would be more worried.

As for bandannas, we are still recovering from Hurricane Florence and some of the Disaster relief centers were giving away bandannas. They are pretty common around here.
Aha! That is useful info. Thanks.

I'll move the bandanna down the list of clues, but still keeping it on the list. :)

Thanks.

Seems like an area where a pedestrian would stand out as unusual, is that right?

jmo

In the early morning, yes they would definitely stand out. There is a little bit of pedestrian traffic during the day, because people walk from the trailer park to the laundromat and grocery store.

The Kings aren’t that prevalent in Lumberton, or NC. If he was a King, anyone who caught any glimpse would have known. (Due to tattoos) Their initiatiations don’t include abductions of women. I’m not sticking up for the gangs...but I don’t think that one is a viable choice...

I know a man that works with gangs here in Lumberton. I’ll try to track him down and ask him.

Someone asked about hunting season. Yes it is hunting season, but people would not be hunting in the woods behind the mobile home park.

The bandanna might a red (or yellow!) herring, but one more idea I'll just toss out there....

Could the perp be a gang member from somewhere else, visiting a relative, perhaps? From Chicago or another city closer with gang activity? Does anyone in the trailer park have ties to such a city? If someone was visiting, that person might need a car to get back home...and a girl with the car?

I know, this does seem like a stretch, but it popped in my mind. Got nothing else to go on. :(

Could be, but I think it would be unwise for a wannabe to be displaying gang colors if he isn't actually in the gang.

I don't know if the bandanna is a gang color, of course. But, it's a possibility.

Apsolutely agree with this. Not gang related

I think we proved that wooded photo was on hornets road near the Kia dealer because the car lights were not on and now notice carefully in this 3rd video his car lights are really not on. He is riding the brake as he is still on Hornets road and right before he makes the left onto Elizabethtown notice he gets off the brakes and there are no car lights on at all.

This indicates to me that the first photo we saw on what looked like a highway or main road where he had the car lights on was taken after the wooded one and after this latest released video on this link below.

So, the info we have is:
* Lone perp walking in a trailer park in the early morning wearing all black and a yellow bandanna over his face.
* Young teenage girl outside family member's trailer starting the vehicle, like she has done before.
* Scream heard. Witness sees perp force Hania into the vehicle and drive off.
* 9-11 is called immediately, though some delay relaying information due to language.
* SUV is spotted on video leaving the trailer park and near a wooded area.

Am I missing anything?

Ive been studying it and I agree that I think he left on Hornets Road and exited right at the Kia dealer and made a left onto East Elizabethtown road.

Because in that brand new video you can see the same "Car City" big red sign. Google maps is obviously older and doesnt show the new mobile homes right on the corner as he made the left.

So he was last headed towards the Food Lion once he made the left onto Elizabethtown.

Its great that LE is honing in on where he went. Lets hope they have more video by now.
The entrance to hornets rd is right next to the Kia dealer.

Exactly, took a left and headed towards Food Lion and may have continued east on rt 41 towards the town of Elizabethtown. Once you get past Food Lion, the road becomes rural, with mostly farms and woods.

Or from Route 41 he may have turned onto Linklaw road just before Food Lion and from there it’s a right on Fayetteville Ave and a mile or two to Interstate 95.

ETA: Route 41 is also called Elizabethtown Road.

No. You have it. We have nothing more than what we had on day one. (Unless you count some blurry external camera views.) no abandoned vehicle, no sightings, no discarded clothing, no nada...

The vehicle turned left off of Hornets road and headed east on Route 41/Elizabethtown Road.

There are some pictures on Google of the Latin Kings and some members do wear yellow bandannas. Sadly, I think Hania's abduction is more sinister and it's not gang related.

eta, I don't think that link was allowed.

Per googling, I believe it is a state issued photo ID for a minor, ie the vertical orientation. Still not sure why a 13 year old would need one though.

way back here on page 3, so not sure if it was discussed but my son has a state issued id and he is 13 because he flies between me and his dad for holidays and summer vacations, alone.

Okay, be patient with me as I get this gang-idea processed. I know most aren't seeing a gang connection, but I'm not ready to give it up just yet.

Another indication of gang member - OR experienced perp - is that this abduction was very brazen. People are awake in the trailer park, going to work and school. There is only one way out of the park. The perp didn't lure the victim or abduct her while she was in an isolated place - but he took her where anyone potentially could've seen him (and did see him) or came after him. To me, that seems like an experienced criminal and one with the bravado of a gang member. I'm still leaning toward crime of opportunity, and only an experienced criminal would recognize this as an opportunity he could get away with. It was a very risky, bold move.

It’s starting to rain here, so I may loose internet. I’ll try to get online in the morning if y’all have any questions.

As a local, what's your hunch?
