Poor Jamie...

I wonder how her former boyfriend deals with the situation that his deceased father seems to be the one responsible for her disappearance.

I've been driving back in forth through Gastonia lately, and have seen a billboard with Jamie's picture and info on it. She has not been forgotten.

New support group for missing and murder victims forms

When someone has a family member killed or go missing, survivors say the trouble explaining the depths of pain and emotions they feel.

Bambe Ealey, Crystal Baucom and Kim Fraley discovered they have a common, if unwanted, bond. Their personal tragedies led them to form a new support group for Gaston County: Survivors of Missing and Murder Victims (SOMMV).

The group plans to meet twice a month, starting May 1, but is still looking for a free location to hold meetings. They want to provide a safe space for community members who have had a loved one killed or had a loved one go missing, something all three have experienced themselves.

On April 9, Fraley will mourn the nine-year anniversary of the date her daughter, Jamie Fraley, went missing. Fraley still dedicates her time to trying to find her missing daughter, who disappeared in 2008 when she was 22-years-old.

Through all the pain, the co-founders of the group are hoping some good will come from what they’ve each been through.

“Nobody wants to have to meet for the reasons we have to meet, but there are so many people who are in this dark hole and they don’t know where to turn,” Fraley said. “We’re just trying to give people a place to turn to.”

Gastonia woman still missing 9 years later

Nine years after she was last seen, Jamie Michelle Fraley remains missing.

Police continue to offer a reward for information that could solve the disappearance of Fraley. She was 22 years old when she disappeared and would be 31 now.

I drive past Jamie's apartments all the time, and always think about her. Wish her family could get some closure but after all these years, it's unlikely.

It’s been 12 years since Kim Fraley has heard her daughter’s voice.

Jamie Fraley, who was 22 years old and living in Gaston County, North Carolina at the time, called her mother just after midnight on April 8, 2008, to tell her she wasn’t feeling well.
---
Kim added that she’s never going to give up searching for answers in her daughter’s disappearance.

“Until you show me different, I’m going to have hope that she’s alive,” Kim said. And she’ll keep up the struggle.

At the time of Jamie’s disappearance, she was 22 years old, 4’8” tall, weighed approximately 90 pounds and had blond hair with brown eyes. She had a tattoo that said “Ricky” on her ankle. Jamie would be 34 years old today.
