Very true stmarysmead, agree totally what you say of putting oneself in the public domain. It unfortunately suits the Earnest's to receive and continue to receive such derogatory public commentary as their friends and relatives will see it and sympathise with them and it suits their agenda of painting Jason as a terrible bully, par for the course that he behaved badly when his familys supporters behave this way. It may be unpleasant and humiliating for them to have it out there on the net but they are willing to tolerate it to try save their niece and brother in law. Now that's its been reported on, it must be taken seriously though to avoid future problems.
I have seen very little on the J4J page that even approximates the kind of commentary our Blog received years ago. Yes, people are angry, but as I detailed in another post, there have been a long series of provocations that inspired that anger.
Indeed the Martens have Internet friends that have said things that certainly approximate anything said in J4J. They have one friend that has done something that will probably result in legal consequences between parties...the likes of which, to my knowledge, have NO equal by any Corbett supporter. To date, THEIR bullies take the cake, so to speak. Perhaps their attorneys should avoid that "bully" terminology or even the topic unless they really ...ah...know the flip side.
And if the Martens are not to be judged by their overly avid supporters, why should the Corbetts?
The accusations made by the attorneys seem self serving to their case. They failed to mention that Mona Earnest keeps her FB public, and they certainly misrepresented to the media (hopefully NOT to the court) that the children's picture was "taken down."
Unless there are other sites, and there could be, in my opinion, this is all grandstanding. Much ado about nothing. Trying to make the Martens into... the "victims"...to divert attention from the heinous rage killing they perpetrated.
The Justice for Jason website is fairly low key when it comes to victim advocacy in a highly emotional case. People are still free to express themselves.
I have seen no serious threats of bodily harm, etc...have you? The attorneys are just trying to create sympathy for two very unsympathetic defendants.
The real "bullies" are the two that armed themselves with bat and brick and did a horrific beat-down of a man that did not put one scratch or bruise on them.
All just my opinion, of course.
