OK I think I've managed to piece the screenshots together and read it. What I don't get is how, if true, molly was able to move to Ireland and set up a new life for herself one month after leaving a psychiatric facility and discontinue her medication. Could it be the case that she attended a doctor when she arrived in Limerick and was taking her medication all along?. She could have easily done this without sharing it with the corbetts. Employees attend doctors all the time but do not reveal to their employer why, usually due to the sensitive nature of such visits. If this was the case , she would have been stable which appears to be the case as she lasted 4 years without any eyebrows being raised when employed as nanny prior to marriage. Yes manipulation is the huge factor in people with mental health problems but for someone not taking medication fo bi-polar, it would have been obvious to everyone around her, she would not have been able to control all her behaviour and she would have had a rapid descent into delirium most likely after about 6 months.
Mr maginn says he was contacted by an investigator a few months ago. A few months ago would mean around the time she was charged. He says he agreed to the article because of the content of the custody hearing, he had concerns about the children etc which was in august last year so why now? What is the purpose of that article? As I said in an earlier post, the martens and molly were most likely aware of his book as it was written about in the local Knoxville papers and he mentions how he changed her name to protect her privacy until now....red herring here perhaps...has she a maneovre here to discredit him...time will tell. Why did he feel now was the time to reveal all, eight months after the custody hearing which he was concerned about. Obviously he didn't keep up to date with local news from Knoxville after he left or he would have seen her name mentioned in local press. I'm just always sceptical of these tell-all articles in sensitive cases and what their purpose is pre-trial...the fact that he was contacted by an investigator means they may use him as a witness as to her character and to disprove her any claims she makes about her mental health. If that is the case, could it be a bad move on his part to give an interview to daily mail at this point? Daily mail couldn't care less, they don't care about the corbetts, they want to sell newspapers. I hope the Corbett children didn't set foot inside a local shop yesterday or they would have seen the headlines staring out at them. I will post the link to Mr maginns website in seperate post for those who have not seen it.
Possibly, after her stay at the huge teaching hospital of Emory, MM was prescribed a new combination of medicines that kept her somewhat stable. But I know from the experiences of a family close to me, that one problem is that often these meds have side effects that the patient dislikes. After a period of stability, they THINK they are cured and they stop the drugs.
A friend's daughter was stable till she married and then decided the drugs were causing miscarriages, so she stopped taking them. She became very sick again and is now divorced, and back home.
I have read that MM claimed to have had miscarriages. I wonder, if in her desire for children, she stopped her meds at some point. Just speculating of course.
As I've posted before, the biggest problem for the defense is that the book was written years ago, when no one cared about MM's history and the author could have no way of knowing that anyone ever would. That makes the content unassassible, no matter what one thinks of the interview. The content is the bombshell...the date of publication undeniable.
The Martens family has tried mightily to project itself, as Uncle Mike says..as the "finest family." I have pity for MM because I think perhaps that image was more important than getting their daughter the help she needed, or protecting little babies from her propensity for rages, and certainly , Jason Corbett's reputation must be sacrificed on the same altar of familial perecrction.
Have any of you read of another bipolar Nanny...check out the murders of the Krim children by their Nanny who snapped one day and left their slashed little bodies in the tub for their Mother to find. Jason paid with his life but thank God, he was spared that.
This Martens family has a great deal to answer for.
My opinion only.
