I think the dents in the walls may be where they swung and missed. His head may have made bloody impressions on the wall as well..as he laid against it. They however, kept swinging and sometimes missing.

That's just how I interpreted it. Dreadful, I know.

Definition of the word "strangled." From google:

"To squeeze or constrict the neck of (a person or animal), especially so as to cause death.
"the victim was strangled with a scarf"

The use of the word "strangled" by the Defense is manipulative. There is no evidence that Molly...even if we accept her version...was near death, approaching unconsciousness, fainting, vomiting, or showing any of the powerful side effects of "constriction."

The Defense is not saying "choked"...they want a word that brings impending death into the jurors mind...although they have only the killers word and no other evidence.

I hope the Prosecution brings this up in closing. Attorneys with evidence on their side, do not need to manipulate the jury.

Having ones hand on another's throat also has degrees of pressure. If, and I repeat "IF" Jason's hands were on Molly's throat...the pressure must have been very slight if all she had was redness, especially after "pulling at" and rubbing her throat repeatedly herself. Remember they say he had hands on her the whole time. But she walked away with nothing to show.

He could have snapped her neck in an instance...but he left no mark.

Jason was the Hunted, not the Hunters. The wounds prove that.

"Have you ever been chased by two people, one beating you with a bat, the other smashing you with a brick...as you tried to find a corner, a bathroom, a place to escape them and the pain? "

That's the Prosecution reply!

Hi all. I’m a newcomer to this site, though I’ve been following this case since the story broke about the custody of the children. Please excuse me if I don’t follow protocols and TOS due to ignorance – my intentions are good. I’ve found this thread to be very informative and wanted to put in my tuppenceworth x 2 if that’s acceptable. I apologise if I’m going over old ground, I’ve read most but not all of the previous threads.

Firstly, I have never been ‘strangled’ - I’m writing this - so no, obviously not. I have however been held in a ‘chokehold’, two hands around my neck shaking me (Ex with anger issues, hence ‘Ex’). I can say that I could neither move nor whisper never mind shout. It only lasted about 15-20 seconds, but I had bruises to the sides/front of my throat as well as 3 scratches from my own nails. The bruises from those 15-20 seconds lasted more than 10 days.
I’m hesitating about my second point, because it’s hurtful to bring up the Autopsy Report, and the horror of it, but here goes… Those dreadful injuries to JC’s head ended his life. I counted the total number of injuries, not including those the ME said were possibly due to the first responders actions on his chest. I count a minimum total of 32 separate injuries, ranging from superficial to fatal. If you’ve given 6 blows to the torso, 3 to the right arm, 2 to the left arm, 4 to the right leg, 1 to the left leg, and you’ve not received as much as a scratch, how can it be necessary to give a 14 to the head?
Just asking…
Just my opinion…

The defence have only clarified 10 to the head so far..
he also had a broken nose.
Defence ME also stated it was difficult to determine velocity behind each though blood spatter experts will clarify these points.

Thank you, stmarysmead - no expertise, just one unhappy incident...

Even less expertise with this I'm afraid. I just counted the injuries as I interpreted them.

I think a re-enactment of the events would go a long way to explain just how the injuries came about. I'd also be interested to see just how well the blood spatter on MM and TM's clothes match up.

Because nothing in this case matches up so far

My guess..Tom the FBI man will testify. He has the training and the experience to stay with his story.

Molly will not testify.

I agree with this assessment. No way they put MM on the stand. The defense will let TM tell a well-rehearsed story--the one that he has told so far.

The interesting part will be to hear the prosecution cross-examine him. Will they be able to trip him up? Given TM's background, it will be a challenge.

I think Tom will do very well telling his story to his defense attorney. But I keep remembering that Tom got rattled when the police officier wouldn't close the car window upon his instruction. This has made me wonder if TM is one of those "He Who Must Be Obeyed" type of people. He even had a bit of an attitude with the 911 operator IMO.

I think there is a woman on the Prosecution team. I hope they let her do the cross on Tom. I suspect it might produce interesting reactions.

I've been thinking about this theory a little bit since the beginning, you can all tell me it's way off, but from some of what was in the earlier news articles in relation to MM having sought advice about leaving JC and her rights to the kids from an attorney.... Here it goes, MM is deciding in her mind to leave JC, she calls her parents to come down for the weekend as back-up, she tells JC she's leaving him and keeping the kids, maybe even says that she's going to do this based upon a made-up domestic abuse claim. Of course an argument ensues, TM overhears, comes up and they attack him then.

Do we know if the landscape brick was removed from the front edging...which would be noticeable if the work was complete....or did it come from the pile outside the lower level?
Did both weapons originate downstairs with the crime occurring upstairs?.

The children were Irish citizens. Would a US court have any say in it? This is presuming that JC is still alive.

I don't know the answers to that really, just trying to look at it from a different angle. She may not have thought it all through properly and greatly underestimated JC, his family, and the court system in general.

Of course, why are we accepting Tom's word that the bat was downstairs and he brought it up. That may just be part of the arranged narrative. We still don't know if this was a "new" bat or the one kept in the garage.

My first thought was that MM took the paver upstairs because at first she was going to claim it was an intruder. Maybe she took the bat upstairs too. MM and TM seem to have had some time to work out their story.

Police had reason to suspect first degree murder.. have another look at these warrants when you get the chance
lots of motives possible

Two head-shaped blood imprints on the wall of the bedroom were found to be at a relatively low level.

Furthermore, substantial quantities of blood were on the bedroom skirting board and on an electrical socket located around 30cm off the floor.
