Per capita, Lumberton is one of the most dangerous towns in the country. You cant live in NC and not see this place on the news regularly. You really have to watch yourself in this area, even on a major interstate. Fortunately, I have no doubt someone seeking the reward money will turn him in.

This saddens me so much. Such a senseless act.
My husband used to be stationed at Ft Bragg, and I could not wait to leave the area, and that was 16 years ago. I can only imagine how much worse it has gotten, unfortunately.

I sure hope they find this suspect!!

Eberly said he had switched into the right lane to go around a slower driver and became aware of the Malibu driving on the shoulder. The Malibu’s driver rolled his window down and gestured, Eberly said.

Eberly said he responded by gesturing that he was sorry and returned to the left lane. Moments later, he noticed the Malibu following closely behind him before the driver then pulled alongside, rolled down the window and started shooting, Eberly said.

“I looked over. The passenger window of my car was shattered. My wife called my name,” Eberly said.

After the bullets were fired, the Malibu drove on ahead, its driver holding the handgun out of the window.

“My immediate attention turned to my wife and, obviously, I determined she was hit and got to the shoulder as soon as I could,” he said.

I’d expect those chrome pieces on the windows to be gone now. They make the car stick out like new money. I just seen a local news story about how much the use of tag readers help with solving crimes and it’s a shame they wernt in use here apparently.

So glad they caught him! He's got quite the list of previous offenses...hopefully he will be locked up for a long time.

North Carolina police arrest man, 29, in connection to road rage shooting | Daily Mail Online

"A man has been arrested after he allegedly shot dead a mother-of-six on a North Carolina Highway after her husband failed to see his car while merging lanes and accidentally cut him off.

Dejywan Floyd, 29, of North Carolina, was arrested on Thursday and charged with first-degree murder of Pennsylvania mother Julie Eberly, 47, in March.

Julie and her husband Ryan Eberly were driving down Interstate 95 in North Carolina on their way for a beach vacation."

"'This was an innocent family from Pennsylvania headed to the beach for a vacation. Thankfully they had left their six children at home with grandparents but now these kids have to live with the thought of their mother being murdered … in such a cowardly and senseless way,' Sheriff Wilkins said."

Suspect arrested in road rage shooting that killed mom of 6

This should be a lead story on every national news cast. But it won’t be.

So far this past year in my area of Wake County we've had a toddler shot and killed for no reason, a UPS driver shot and killed for no reason, and a pregnant woman killed and stuffed in a suit case. I knew the pregnant woman personally. And now a few counties down a mother and wife is killed for seemingly, no reason. If the media actually focused on the things that mattered instead of the things that divide and create controversy, maybe we'd actually be able to educate the people in this country.

And this is completely ignoring Durham. Every day it seems someone is shot in Durham. A little girl was victim of a drive by a few days ago in Durham. How is this not what should be national news?

I agree completely. The media refuses to report anything that doesn’t fit their desired narrative. The entertainment industry glamorizes... in music and movies...behaviors and lifestyles that result in suffering and death...just read the weekend totals in major newspapers.

Children die in crossfire just sitting with their toys on their front steps. Where’s the outrage? A wife and Mother dies because her husband made a driving mistake. Media stories, if they happen, are one and done...like these killings don’t matter because they don’t move the narrative.

This story is over. Yesterday’s news.
