Over 5 years and nothing new in over a year. I wish LE could get more out of Thomas White.

“Arlene moved to North Carolina once her kids were grown, while Karen stayed in New Jersey to attend Morris County Community College and study Early Childhood Development.

Arlene told Dateline that Karen loved working with children.

In 2014, Karen, then 38, moved to Hertford, North Carolina to live with her mother.

According to Arlene, at around noon on May 30, 2015, Karen told her she was heading out to run some errands and was going to see a few friends later in the day.”
———————————-
Arlene moved to Hertford once her children were grown, while Karen was in college.

So Arlene has lived in Hartford for a long time, guessing at least 20 years? And Karen loved her teaching job in NJ.

What happened in 2014 that prompted Karen to leave the job she loved and move in with her mother in NC?

Karen moved there in 2014 and by May of 2015 had made several friends. Coworkers? How did Karen met them? There isn’t a lot of information about where Karen like to go, her favorite place to hangout, etc.

Who knows Karen and can fill in the blanks?

Bumping for Karen. This case caught my eye several years ago because I have a friend who lives near Edenton. We finally got to visit that sweet little town a couple of years ago. Karen’s Mom is still faithfully posting on FB. Such sadness. :(

Forgive me if this article from 2019 was already posted, but it contains some interesting information that got my attention:

First, does anyone else think it’s very strange that no DNA or fingerprints were found? Was the car wiped down so thoroughly that not even Karen’s showed up?

The Perquimans Police Department told Dateline there were no fingerprints or DNA on, in, or around the car.
<snip>

“He was brought in for questioning,” Sheriff White – who is not related to Thomas Edward White – told Dateline. “And he was given a polygraph test, [which] he failed.”

Sheriff White said he spoke to the polygraph administrator after the test. Together, he said they determined White “didn’t do this, but he knows what happened and just won’t tell us anything.”

Thomas Edward White is not considered a suspect in Karen’s disappearance.
<snip>

Karen’s mother Arlene told Dateline that Karen has a mental disorder and was on medication.

“Since Karen had a cognitive impairment, a Silver Alert should have been enacted and it wasn’t,” missing persons advocate Debbie Manning said, adding that she believes having multiple agencies working the case also slowed down the investigation. “Since Karen lived in a different county than where her car was found, there were two police departments working on her case, which allowed for miscommunication between the different police departments.”

Family of missing Perquimans County woman searching for answers six years later | WAVY.com

Six years later, Murin’s anguish remains the same.

“Every place I look, you know, I go out to the store, I’ll look in the fields and I say ‘oh my gosh, is she in there?’ I just want to know where she is and what happened,” Murin said.

The mother described her daughter as a trusting and caring woman who always had a smile. She said she won’t rest until she has answers.

“I know that there’s people out there that must know something,” Murin said.

The family is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction.

At least the nearby media covers the case. This the latest I've found. The TV stations that service that area are all out of Norfolk or Portsmouth in VA. I haven't seen anything from them on the case in a few years. But this article is all I've found in the last year.

I still believe the person who last used her mom's credit card is responsible.

<<Thomas Edward White, Sr., 63, admitted to using a Discover credit card Bosta used the day after she was last seen on May 30, 2015.

The judge gave him the maximum sentencing guidelines of six weekends in jail, including 36 months of probation and parole.

White, Sr. also has to pay $600 in restitution fees and is prohibited from making contact with Bosta's family.>>

<<Investigators said surveillance video caught White, Sr. swiping the card at a gas pump the next day.

He pleaded guilty to obtaining property by false pretense and stood in silence with his head down.>>
