Karin Rochelle Ottenberg was last seen on December 22, 2024 at her home in Sunset Park, North Carolina. She does not have her vehicle or phone with her. She is described as being 5'7", 145 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.

Summary of article:

Karin Rochelle Ottenberg, age 49

Resides in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Wilmington, NC. She was last seen at home at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 22. When her mom went to her house later that day, she wasn't there, but her vehicle was there and her phone and purse were in the house.

She's the mom of two, ages 15 and 11. Family and friends say that she would never leave her children for any reason, especially at Christmas.

Her friend says she would never go anywhere with someone she didn't know without a fight.

She is a horticulturist at a nursery.

The stepmother of her children posted several pictures of her on a community FB page. I don't think I can post the link here, but it can be easily found in a Google search.

Well this is certainly strange. Who saw her last? Was it her kids? Where did she say she was going? What was her state of mind? Where are the kids? What about the kids dad? So many questions ... hoping she is soon found safe and back with her children ... MOO

Friends are saying Karin sent a text at 2 pm, ex-husband arrived at 3:15 pm to drop off the kids, no one was home.

No Mom is going to leave her kids two days before Christmas. Vehicle, purse, cell, all in the home - not a good sign.

Was Karin in a relationship with someone currently? Anything distressing going on in her life?

49-year-old Karin Rochelle Ottenberg was last seen on Sunday at her home in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Wilmington. (In the links up above it says they don't have a description of what she was wearing last. Why not? If they saw her on Sunday what was she wearing? It would help alot.)

Since it doesn’t say who saw her at her home Sunday, I think it may have been a neighbor or someone driving by? Didn’t interact, just observed her outside maybe?

She sent the text from her home at 2pm. Not sure who “saw” her, but we do know the last texts on her phone were regular texts with friends.

this is very worrisome. Are her two children minors or adults? Do either of them reside with her? I find it very concerning that she has neither her vehicle or phone. We are so attached to our cell phones nowadays I don't know many who leave home without it for any length of time.

Gone are the days of payphones.

It sure looks like she didn’t leave on purpose.

Her green T-Shirt says: "Support Family Moisture Farms".

Her children are minors. Her oldest is highly autistic. They were dropped off by their dad around 330 that day and that’s when she was discovered missing.

family moisture farms are a Star Wars construct.

A moisture farm was an area of land devoted to the production of water through the drawing of moisture from the dry air. It depended on vaporators, a type of device that could harvest excess atmospheric humidity. On hot and arid desert worlds like Tatooine, moisture farming was a vital activity. The Lars family, into which Luke Skywalker was adopted, owned one such farm. The family of Biggs Darklighter was rich enough to own twenty.[2]

Yes. She is a very patient and loving mother. She would never have just left her kids like that. She was expecting them that day. We’re all perplexed and worried. The fact that the house was left unlocked with the tv on and she has none of her belongings implies she left in hurry. She is not one who wouldn’t put up a fight if someone came after her, and there was no foul play signs at the home, so I’m wondering if someone she knew is involved. We’re hoping there is a neighbor with a camera that caught something.
