Silver alert issued for 78-year-old Catawba County man

A silver alert has been issued for a 78-year-old Catawba County man last seen on 31st Street Lane NE in Hickory.

Karlheinz Mueller “is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment,” according to the alert.


Mueller is 5-feet-6-inches tall, weighs 153 pounds and has short, gray hair and blue eyes, according to the alert.

The alert also included a description of a vehicle: a silver 2016 Kia Forte with North Carolina license plate FAB-3339.
