I really like this doctor, much more than the one yesterday afternoon who was so full of himself. This guy appears 'real'.
Good morning everybody!

I am still having trouble believing this was JW's first rape/ murder.

I woke up this morning with the thought that if he'd canvassed the house before (during "dog walks") and even maybe broke in before, that maybe he knew that the white car was KT's and would also know that JG's car was NOT there. I cannot see the car pad in the pictures on MLS but wouldn't he have had to walk right past it to get to the back where the doors were? This is assuming the part about him checking the mailbox is true and assuming he didn't get to the house from the back path instead and also assuming he's lying when he says he didn't see the car?

Also, I know the defense needs to have it be that JW hit her before raping her b/c if he raped her first, he had time to consider his next move and that would be premed. I really hope she was knocked out before the rape. I have met KT in the past and while all these trials get to me personally, this one does even more so.

Good morning all! Looks like "Raleigh Rick Santorum" has entered the courtroom, so we are now getting started...
(No offense to RS intended--is the DT intending to conjure up hearth and home with the sweater vests, do we think?)

:giggle: Good way to start the day, NCB - thanks for the laff!!

If JW was walking down the street from his apt (Oberlin Road would be in front of him), he would walk by the car 1st, and the mail box would be about 3--5 feet from the car. The parking pad is small -- the lot does not have a lot of street frontage.

ok, let's take a vote because i can't decide - is JW pretending his catatonic state or is he heavily medicated. Most days i think he's a calculating serial killer playing a game and then other days I feel sorry for him.

You experts help me decided.

I was wondering the same thing! The catatonia is, I think, a courtroom demeanor choice, and his way of mentally escaping. His mother said they send him a LOT of reading material. If he was catatonic outside of the courtroom he would not be going through lots of reading material. If he was heavily medicated he'd be falling asleep and stay asleep.

I believe if the victim had not been KT, he (lawyers) would claim insanity and done a few years in mental ward and then released. Cant help think that someone is pushing LWOP and rightfully so. This monster cannot be allowed freedom!

Totally agree. If he was heavily medicated he'd look far more 'out of it'. And as Maddy said, if he was severely ill in any way or heavily medicated, he wouldn't have been able to concentrate enough to read.

Who did I miss?

Agreed. I think he's "checking out"--emotionally detaching--a technique I mastered as an only child growing up in alcoholic home. Perhaps JW did, too?

Exactly NCB. I've never met anyone who admitted to being able to detach before. ( hugs ). Thank you for saying it. I used to be able to detach quite effectively, since going through extensive therapy I've lost the ability.

What did I miss this morning?

I missed the cross of the doc from yesterday. That took place this morning. The jury then reviewed his documentation. Current doc is on direct. Others can be far more helpful to you, I'm sure. :)

Listening to him speak, I'm reminded of Ken Bianchi and his *multiple* personalities.

What did I miss this morning?

I had unexpected company and then a long phone call and missed most of this morning. I'm sorry I can't help much.
I like this current doctor too. I'm beginning to think I need to seek one of them out for myself and half of my family~!

Good for you, Glee! Therapy can be a wonderful thing, right? Especially if you're honest (looking at you, JW!) with your therapist.

:grouphug: darling. I believe JW is of course heavily medicated right now, and also overcome with the knowledge that he really, really, really should have listened to his AA sponsor. Believe me you guys, my sponsors says JUMP, I just ask how high. :what:

All I know is this doc currently on the stand said he has 5 kids and a golden retriever.

At the point I heard "golden retriever," I melted into a big pile of goo and well... I like him.

As for if JW is medicated or not, I heard the doc say that JW has been prescribed Lithium while in prison, if he's taking it then yes, he's under medication.

What I have heard of Lithium is that it works, but has the side effect of zombie likeness. I think Madeleine has a great point there.
