Any chance this could be James Martin Roberts? He went missing from the mountains of NC, but at one time there was a thought that he may have went to the coast of NC.

Well, skeletons don’t wash up anywhere. They disarticulate and fall to the bottom of whatever body of water they are in, notwithstanding Pirates of The Caribbean movies. So this person either washed up as a corpse, was buried by wave action and became skeletal in place, or was buried there by someone else. I don’t think someone disposed of a body there, it is way too public of an area.
I wish they would release more info on this one. There is just not much to go on.
