Sigh. In one of the other cases I follow, the jailed/accused murderer has a loyal contingent of followers (read: he is young/wealthy/handsome). His defenders' main argument, with the dead man's body on his property and the dead man's truck in his trailer? "No one would be so stupid as to leave all that evidence behind." (Ergo, he was framed, of course.)

I often want to point them to this case. :)

What case is that if you don't mind me asking?

What case is that if you don't mind me asking?

Tim Bosma. Family man, tried to sell his truck online; disappeared with the two test drivers and never came home. His burned remains ended up on a farm property owned by a young wealthy guy who really likes trucks and cars; the truck itself was found in wealthy guy's trailer in front of wealthy guy's mom's house; wealthy guy also had a girlfriend who disappeared a few weeks before a *deadstock incinerator* was delivered to that same farm where Tim's remains were found (burned beyond recognition); wealthy guy's father committed suicide last year, except that he had no reason to commit suicide and that case has been re-opened as suspicious. It goes on and on, and yet he inspires a fiercely loyal following. (By the by, LE was back at the farm today in hazmat suits, seemingly about the missing ex girlfriend, but possibly also some drug involvement. We don't know what, if anything, they found today.)

Sorry for long o/t, it's complicated (and has its own mini forum), but that's the same gist you'd get from MSM.

Yeah, I've seen the mini forum but am not following the case. Sounds pretty clear cut from your post. Tanks for the deets!

I truly believe the focus is on that bathroom because that's where they did the sawing.

Weds, July 13: they kill Laura shortly after she arrives, put her in the bathtub. The boys were kept in another room. They never saw her.
- 9:30pm. Then they go get a snack at Chick Fil A

Thurs, July 14:
- 2:40am, GH is at walmart buying supplies
- 10am: Sha comes and takes kids away
- 10am to 4:30pm: This is when they dismember her in the hall bathroom. They have shower curtain to contain splatter (sorry) inside the tub area, they probably taped plastic over the walls, also. The guy in the unit below them was probably at work, thus their doing it during the day Thursday.

Fri, July 15:
- they get the U-haul hitch put on the car
- 12:20 pm: GH is at Walmart @ 6600 Glenwood buying duffel bags

Sat, July 16:
- GH gets U-haul, buys ice and coolers at Target
- Later 8:10pm, they buy more coolers and return the duffels to Walmart

Sometime Thursday night, Friday and/or Saturday, cleaning is being done.

Sun, July 17:
- the fam stays at Motel 6 in Montgomery, AL

Mon, July 18: the H's arrive in Richmond, TX

All JMO...and I think the SBI will show that the sample taken from the hall bathroom is Laura's blood.

(I'm not sure how I ended up following it so closely--I think it was just the spookiness of this normal, everyday guy trying to sell his truck on the Canadian equivalent of Craigslist and then disappearing into the night. And then it ended up so much crazier than anyone could have guessed.)

I think so too.

Would anyone be able to identify who this older gentleman is in this photo?

I've seen him lean in at the Defense table on other days & speak to GH.

I recognize him from another trial also, I believe Jason Young's maybe? He sat with the defense then as well. I don't know his name; perhaps he's an investigator?

I tried to find the chick Fil A video tonite. It's not in the WRAL archived segment, seems to have been cut out. Does anyone know where another version might be?

And...What's really boggling my mind is that hand-written agreement! Why would Laura sign that? She (supposedly) even added the 2nd section verbiage in her handwriting, but that part it doesn't really make sense, IMO. I can't understand it.

And Boodles....the date on that document. Wasn't it 6 marked through with a 7 over it? (for the month?) We don't really know when, exactly, she may have completed that agreement--in June or July.
This is pretty much an open and shut case at this point but there are still so many loose ends we may never know the truth about.
I saw some photobucket pics of Laura on the web and she was truly a very pretty girl. Prettier than the same one or two the media have been using all this time. What a very sad ending to her life.

Don't forget--it's 9am start time this morning unless something prevents it....I would hate to be a juror who forgot.

One juror is late

It's sounding like the psych report may come in!

Good morning! Back to work and can't watch in real time (boohoo!). I will be checking in though on my breaks.

Boz snuck it in yesterday, clever person that he is. Apparently, they had a copy of it in the Durango. When the Durango search warrant was executed, they took it as evidence from the car. It had stains and notes on it, so the judge allowed it as evidence from the car (but not for the actual report, but the jury can read it anyway...LOL!).

How odd that they were driving around with the psych evaluation tucked into the console of the durango!

Oh yes, psych eval in the Durango. Kids in the backseat. Coolers w/ body parts in the Uhaul. & Chick Fil A.

Sounds like a typical family outing for this clan.

  • #237
I do hope the psych eval will be allowed because I remember back in the spring during a motions hearing it was mentioned that the report indicated that GH was both a psychopath and a sociopath.

  • #238
Judge will allow it in, not for the truth of the matter, but for state of mind of the defendant. I sure want to hear from the doctor!

I missed the first part of today. Was no blood found on anything from the trash?

Not so far. The SBI lab got some of the items subsequently, and they're up now.
