Hi island mixed, I may be totally off base here, but I think the amanda that borndem refers to from the previous page/interview....is amanda lamb, a reporter that works for wral - and did the interview with Grant.

Oh lol i guess i watched that video then. was looking forward to a pre interview with this lady. Thanks for clearing that up hehe

I read the murder happened when Laura was dropping off the kids, but it wasn't mentioned if the children were present. Did those children witness this? How horrific.

In Amanda's L.'s interview with GH he says the older child was in the same room with the two women. That was a new piece of info for me.

Yep, you are absolutely correct.. In his recent version of events he places his and Laura's oldest son in the room when Laura was killed.. Below gives the basic gist of his recent version of events..

Hayes claimed Ackerson came to the apartment to make a cash deal to give up custody of her sons and while she was there he left the room momentarily.
<<snip>>

Hayes claimed that Laura and Amanda began arguing over the children[of course it all took place conveniently while HE was OUT of the room]
<<snip>>

"As Amanda was walking away, Laura snatched her back by her hair after telling her she was going to take her child from her. And Amanda told me that she forcefully hit her in the throat with her elbow," said Hayes.
<<snip>>

"I mean, I was gone out of the room less than a minute literally. And, uh, Laura died in front of me and my son Little Grant," said Hayes.

Both of them are guilty as sin, but I must confess, I almost fell asleep listening to the GH interview so their were things I never took much notice of. Now, does anyone feel like their might be truth that AH sister helped all along? Something about her, that made me think she was lying the whole time. She knew more...

And it's terrific to 'see' you Born and to know that you are already geared up for this trial! Thanks for keeping WS up to date during the interim.
I gathered during the interview with AL that he is still into his own EGO but I also gathered that he is a very smooth talker. No wonder he's been able to attract the gorgeous chicks. However, his universe is certainly not one in reality and I enjoyed watching AL's facial expressions a few times when he was talking or responding. A big take away for me was that he was placing a heck of a lot of blame on KB, AH's sister. As far as his thinking is concerned, she should be charged with murder too.
I am really anxious for this trial to begin and am looking forward to spending time with all of you good people. And gaining weight :(

HiYa, 'East -:seeya:- Re the gaining weight (bbm) :blushing: -- You already caught me! I was munching a chocolate wafer as I was just reading your great post. <munch, munch>

Yes, you hit it on the head about GH's opinion of himself & about his opinion on KB. I guess he's still in some kind of I-am-so-smart haze. Grrrr.

And when he told AL that the elbow by poor little AH to LA was an accident, I almost spit at my 'puter screen. Grrrrrr. :banghead:

And it does look like "the gang" that is us is beginning to gather! :rollercoaster: We all just need to think positive things for LA and her boys and for the other half of that IMO murdering duo to be :jail: .

I'll definitely be here as well. Due to work constraints, I can only pop in periodically for the morning hours, but I am available for afternoons. I wonder if her daughter is going to testify again too?

:seeya:We'll be glad to have you, SurfieTX, anytime you can be with us!! So glad you're here!

And I think AH's daughter will have to get back on the stand -- it will be interesting to see what questions this DT will ask her...

Guess I'll claim my seat and stock up on munchies.
Looking forward to joining you all at the trial.

Will those of you in NC keep us posted on any updates you might catch?
I will be checking WRAL but I probably won't catch every little thing.
How I wish they would stream the jury selections. I know it is not common to do but it was interesting when they did it for Zimmerman.
By this time next week we could be listening to opening arguments! (or maybe even sooner if we are lucky)

Jury Selection starts this morning in the Trial of Amanda Hayes. Grant Hayes is claiming it was an accident in an interv and then said "laura got herself killed" ...

It was a horrific statement to make.:tantrum:

So check with WRAL on and off today; if openings begin please yell in big letters, lol! I will do the same.

Sure hope the snow doesn't delay the process of selecting a jury today!

Those of you that are local I am not sure how much snow you are used to getting.

Very excited for this trial to begin! :great: :skip: :woohoo:

Thanks for that news clip. Sad seeing the dad speak, I always feel so bad for the family. So opening arguments have begun? Or did the reporter get it wrong. As I thought the jury has not been selected yet.

Well I don't know anyone who is tweeting or if the court house is even still open. I've not heard a peep. Anyone else?

Me too; Gosh I miss having a live feed. I thought that her murder was horrific and was glad that Grant H was found guilty; I only heard a small clip of what He had to say and it made me ill; I agree hearing from her Father was really powerful. I hope we get to hear opening statements and in one of the online clips I heard that they are not going to allow this new testing of the bio hazard suit that was found ( I dont think it will yield any results one way or the other*

They tried to get this trial delayed and the judge refused. I'm so wtg JUDGE on that....

I'll keep checking wral and other nearby stations for any word. Jury selection can sometimes take hours, or days.

Hi Cherry :seeya:

I haven't heard of anyone, but I haven't looked either. I will take a look?

This thread got moved right before my eyes. :scared:
