Judge Stephens says that the Jurors looked at the boat for less than 10 minutes. #AmandaHayes

I know the judge is allowing jurors to view the photo in some other part of the court but he made it sound like each juror could decide for themselves if they wanted to view it.

If you were a juror would you pass? I think I'd view it, even tho I'd regret seeing it I'd want to remove any fairytale or not real stuff in my head and see the reality of what was done to Laura Ackerson.

I too find it abhorrent that she doesn't appear to react to any of the photos. She is a stepford wife. totally. Inside and Out.

The way the monitor is situated, only the jurors can see the photos. The gallery cannot see them. Well, except for the "oops" picture inadvertently displayed on the big screen for a split second. Who knows if the witch was looking up at that moment.

So they recovered all of Laura? I thought they never found the head?

The head was found by the divers tht were called in after the initial finding of torso pieces

  • #285
The jury hasn't seen the picture of the head yet. So far, we've heard about the torso, legs... This next witness may be the one who found it.

Brian Davis, a member of the Houston Police Department Dive Team found the head

"Coleman" (coolers) as a brand name is getting a few plugs.

wish we could see the inside of the house.

The killers left two coolers thrown in the grass. Why didn't they burn them?

Yes, I would view every single piece of evidence offered as much as I disliked it. I would feel that is my duty as a juror.

Wish the camera person would show the screen instead of doing is Facebook...pay attention, dude.

Just a little boat info. I have never been in a john boat, am a canoe person. A canoe is VERY tippy, john boat - maybe not so much. But - add all the coolers and 2 people emptying coolers over the side.....then I am not sure about tippyness. One of the paddles shown, the short one with the black handle....is a kayak paddle. Person using it must sit near side of boat to use it. I would think he might have needed machete to cut lily pads.
He must have spent a lot of time cleaning paddles, boat and coolers...and used way more than a red coffee canister. Can not imagine a nearby hose.
I am only pondering and wondering.

A flat-bottom boat is a bit more stable than a kayak unless it is going thru waves, as in the ocean, a sound or river rapids, etc. In a flat-bottom, you get beaten-up by the flap-flap-flapping of that squarish flat bow trying to make it thru waves, etc. But on this little creek, as long as it was calm, which it prolly was most of the time, it would be pretty stable as long as you were seated, etc.

When will this cameraman click on that we, the viewers can't see, the non graphic pictures on the screen that are being talked about, because he's not showing them. Someone slap him awake please......

I live not too far from the Berry's. That year we had a horrible drought. Most every county was under a very strict burn ban due to wildfires everywhere and it was strictly enforced by LE. Plus, homeowners weren't real keen on anyone burning either and would report any fires. I'm sure Karen told them this.

That's Chad Flowers, WRAL cameraman, and he needs to be kicked every so often. Or... if you tweet to @WRAL and tell them to wake Chad up and focus the camera on the evidence screen, they will get him the message pretty quickly. (Ask me how I know... :floorlaugh:) If I were there in person I'd remind him (or give him a little kick myself).

So Amanda Hayes registered in a motel as Amanda Smith. Another nail in her coffin otherwise why try to deceive who she was?

This is annoying. I'd like to see the distances being discussed. If it were possible for one person to accomplish all this.

Nearly dawn here so I'll bid you all a goodnight...

Just for perspective, here is a listing for a 72-quart Coleman cooler -- I knew it would have to be pretty large as coolers go - its dimensions are as follows:

Exterior Dimensions: 39.8 in. x 19 in. x 19 in. (101.1 cm x 48.26 cm x 48.26 cm).

This may not be the exact replica of what they bought, but it would have to be very similar -- Here's a link to a pic & the entire descripton:

This is all so unbelievable and surreal. Coolers, u-haul, hog pen, machete, waterlilies, chemical odors....

God, I cannot believe what these two monsters did to poor Laura.
