Yes! Great closing! Wow. Not too emotional, stuck to the facts and the evidence.

Awesome!

Hey judge, slow it down!! This is important! Why is he speed reading?

  • #966
Hope judge lets jury stay and deliberate into the evening, if they wish.

You guys should watch her closing arguments in the Jason Young trial #2. Another standing ovation performance. Amazing, really.

I love how she put in the "woman" part of it, just in case. Just in case there is someone (Man or woman) - who believes the woman was controlled by the man in this situation. Or who doesn't want to take her away from her children. Etc.etc. I thought it was necessary that BH put that into her closing, juuuust in case.....

So well done. Yay Ms. Holt!

  • #970
She will be convicted under the "Acting In Concert" statute, IMO. That alone will get her Murder 1st degree.

In a word,

WOW!! and

:drumroll:BRAVO, BECKY!!:drumroll:

Becky really brought it. Ouch, KA-BLOOEY! Shot the whole defense's argument down like a clay duck.

If I were AH, my pants would be wet and I'd be trying not to twist & shout and run right out.

'Nuff said.

She needs to be locked up and never heard from again.

:sigh: Those poor kids. The boys lost their mom, because their father and step mother killed her. It was horrible and now infamous. Their father and step mother are battling it out against each other in court and in the media - for their own best interests. This puts the little girl's parents at odds. So, as they grow up the boys will know that their sister's mother helped kill their mother. This is not to mention that the town know all the gruesome details of the murder and the aftermath. People in that town who know/knew GH, AH and LA will all have some opinion. And if I remember right, GH's father is a preacher - so you have a church full of people who think what they will about this stuff that happened, and also will think about their preacher and his wife who raised a murderer and are now raising the murderer's children. Then you have Sha who moved across the country to be away from all of this - which also separates her from her own sister. What a path these two people have set these children upon. I feel so bad for them all and all the others whose lives have been altered due to their selfishness.

It sounds like these jury instructions should help convict her. I hope.

I wish we could have seen her expressions while Becky was telling the TRUTH. I wonder if she was clenching her jaw, or scowling? It must have had some effect on her.

FYI, the National Enquirer has picked up this story...

I bet those eyebrows are hiding in her hairline.

Perfectly stated. What a sad state of affairs for all involved. The reality of this gruesome crime is sickening. If we are effected and emotionally involved, I just can't imagine those sweet little kids knowing all of this someday.

So when they are going through the instructions, they would start with 1st degree murder, is that correct? If they agree on 1st degree murder, they don't look at any of the charges below that. I hope they understand that.

They don't usually do this since the courthouse closes down at 5:00. Guards and other personnel would have to stay late to accommodate the jury, and there is not a budget for this. I feel 99 % sure they will be dismissed at or around 5:00pm.
