Reached by DailyMail.com late Wednesday, Cornelius Fire Chief Guerry Barbee acknowledged the blaze but refused to discuss specifics.

It wasn't until December 15, two weeks after the fire, that the girl's mother, Diana Cojocari, reported her daughter missing.

Police later searched the property for evidence, joined by FBI agents scouring the yard for debris.

I’ve been searching this site for reports about the fire, but it hasn’t been updated in weeks. Odd because they usually publish the blotter weekly. Can anybody find another site for the blotter? I’ve tried multiple times without any luck.

ETA: I’m wondering if the parents had other items they wanted to burn but the FD or LE showed up because of complaints, so they had to come up with another plan? So possibly M is nearby and was not with CP (alive or not) on his reported trip to MI. MOO

The fact that neighbors reported that mom continued to burn things even the Sat. morning just before her arrest is very concerning as well. Stepdad was arrested just after midnight I think, and mom's priority after his arrest was to continue to burn more stuff?
Certainly doesn't point towards the burnt items being unimportant or not related to Madalina (jmo)

So if we are at that moment in a WS thread that discussion of the finer points of body disposal occurs, I have to wonder if one of the “items” that CP went to MI to retrieve was a heavy tool, something with a foot that might leave a round impression on the bumper of a car when removed from said car’s trunk, which car might have been in a cluttered garage and which heavy tool could have also dented the car when being moved about in the garage. And which tool he would not want to be seen purchasing anywhere.

So does LE think they sold her or something? I don't understand the billboards if she was killed in the house.

Also, a few posts said that CP's family hinted something negative about him. I have seen this no where myself and am wondering if someone can post an allowed link or generally say what it's about.

Like does he have other kids? Has he done something bad before? I can't even think what his own family would say that perhaps we can prove other ways.

Billboard, repeated tweets from LE with sweet photos and comments about horses and ice cream and such. I’m wondering if it’s some sort of pressure tactic to get DC in particular to talk? They haven’t yet found M and probably need some sort of confession to know where to look for her. If she is dead and there is no confession, I’m afraid she will never be found. With a public defender, she is probably not talking at all, but maybe she is being shown those photos and tweets?

Or if LE has reason to believe she may still be alive, sweet tweets and a billboard keep the case in everyone’s mind.

Thank you for posting this! I realized I had just assumed without thinking when I made my post a few pages ago that it was M’s Moldovian family who wrote the letter. I have reported my post so as to alleviate any confusion. My apologies! Tunnel vision, I think.

I am afraid something has been seriously wrong in this family for a very long time. Why would you ever think or suspect that your spouse has "hidden" your child? Hidden from what? Hidden from whom? Why?

If I came home and my dog wasn't here, I wouldn't ask my husband "have you hidden the dog?" Hidden? You'd say "Where's Buddy?" "Did Buddy get out?" Obviously if it's your child it's more like a guttural scream that you can't find them. But just in general it is such a weird word and has a weird underlying meaning.

Was Madalina being abused by SD? Has mom hidden Madalina in the past to protect her or punish SD? This all stinks so much it makes me want to vomit.

I hope the FBI and NCMEC have run her photo through their database. I hope they searched the electronics in the house. I get such a bad feeling from ALL of these people.

People do weird stuff during martial conflict. I've heard of parents doing things like this before. I have actually had it happen to, but, the difference here is that the spouse who doesn't have the child start raising high holy hell

Those people should be paying attention to the case of Lori Vallow Daybell, who has been in jail for 2 years for murdering two of her children. Its a fascinating (and horrifying) case, working its way towards trial. Nobody who follows it is under any illusion that mother Daybell is anything but a poisonous snake, certainly not a victim, in my opinion only.
