I mean, do any of these women even bother to run a background check on these guys. Granted, there is always a first time...but like I said around 3:30ish this afternoon, these single mothers don't need a man. And if they want romance and a relationship they can wait until the kid is 18 and off to college.

Not much Margarita; someone said Ashley Banfield was reporting that LE is searching a pond but I haven't found any supporting info on msm yet. I'll keep looking.

In the meantime, here are some quotes from Sheriff Miller:

Onslow County Sheriff Hans Miller wouldn't say who was the last person to see the child and when, or whether anyone in the girl's family had taken a polygraph test. Miller also wouldn't say whether investigators are looking to speak with any persons of interest.

Miller didn't detail how he believes the child went missing, but said investigators aren't ruling out any possibilities, including that she was abducted or wandered off.

"Our focus right now is to bring her back, and then to find out what happened," Miller said. "In that effort to bring her back we would not rule out any possible situations that may have occurred. Our minds our open, our ears are open, and our eyes are open."

Miller pleaded with the community to come forward with any information and asked residents to check their own properties for anything unusual. Anyone who was in touch with the family on Sunday or has been in touch with them since is being asked to call in.

Ok, so I’m thinking what everyone else is thinking: That we know what the outcome is and who is responsible. But I’m not sure I can blame the Mom for wearing makeup when she knows she’s going to be in the press. She lives in a trailer, she isn’t...you know...she doesn’t look like a well put together person in n her everyday life. Maybe she didn’t want to be judged by the public as trailer trash and wanted to look presentable? Maybe she didn’t want to be judged on appearances? I can understand that a little bit.

She will be judged no matter what she does or does not do.It is not like she was wearing a cocktail dress and heels.I agree she probably has had little sleep and knew she would be ridiculed about appearance.

She isn't so far, but I hope when she does she chooses wisely. She has two middle school age kids too, and a very demanding career as a paramedic.

I had a potential client call me the other day. She needed assistance because she was selling her home and moving with her little girl to a different county, away from daddy- who has the child half of the time and is a "good father" - and in with her fiancé. How long has she known the man? SIX MONTHS.

Disgusting what some women will do or risk for a man. Selling her home. Uprooting her child. Separating father and daughter. For a man she barely knows.

When are women going to stop it? Stop moving in men with your young children. Stop allowing your new man to "babysit" or "discipline" your kids. Stop putting your need for a man ahead of the needs of your children!

Of course single parents deserve to have a life and romance. But my gosh, the two can be kept separate. At least for a few years while you get to know them super, super well.

I don't know what happened here or whether anyone in the house is connected with this little doll's disappearance. Nothing has been released yet except the request for info that the baby was seen Sunday.

But after so many cases involving the "new man", I'm jaded and (perhaps prematurely) pissed.

I couldn’t agree more. I have an acquaintance who is a single parent to a child with a disability. She met a guy half her age online and two weeks later they got married and she moved to another city. Surprise, surprise, he was into drugs and very abusive. Her parents came and got the child after about a month and even THAT didn’t wake her up. She was with him for two years before HE left HER for another woman. I just don’t get it.

not the case at all, but statistics show that children who LIVE with a man who is not their father are at greater risk of abuse or death. it's not right that the women have to modify their behavior bc of men's actions, but with children involved, it's better than leaving them at risk. Women can date of course. But introducing a man to the woman's child or cohabitating must be done carefully and with much caution. I'm a single mom and I subscribe to this lifestyle - not dating (for now) or living with a man. I have been in an abusive marriage and study psychopathy, narcissists, and sociopaths. One in 20 people are psychopaths, and men are more often psychopathic than women, so it's more like one in ten men is on the spectrum of psychopathy. And those who are single by mid-life are usually the ones who were not able to forge lasting relationships or who were divorced by women who caught them lying/cheating or who were alcoholic, gamblers or /sex addicts. Not a good pool to choose from.

I think we see too many cases of live-in boyfriends harming or killing the children in the home...and stats seem to bear this out, that children are much more likely to be harmed by a non-bio adult in the home, I believe. And often the child is so young that you know there could not have been much time between the bio parent and the "new" man in the home.

I do not have kids, but I think there are so many ways availble to screen people now that it would be insane to move someone in with your children without thoroughly checking them out, no matter what your lust levels or whatever are saying. And we often learn these men DO have criminal records...whether moms knew or not...who knows. But jmo they should have.

Not saying this applies here.

That is raw and very difficult to watch. If what they are saying is true, we once again have a situation where multiple people failed this little one and the people who were perhaps best able to keep her safe and happy were turned away. Sigh.
