I think that was reported by a relative in MSM. But not a close by relative. Nothing that is confirmed by LE.

Hello. I'm usually lurking, this is my first post. I came here because of the Delphi girls.
I used to live on Lejeune, and I know this area well. I used to, anyway. It's been years.
I even lived right off 17 for a time.

Was the Amber Alert not sent to phones because there was no vehicle involved?

Another case that tugs at my heart. I have a 3yr old little girl (who loves to shed her jammies - she did it last night & it was in the 40’s here. She had wet the bed and I didn’t want the battle at Midnight.) I also have a 2yr old little boy with a gait abnormality. Therapy is expensive (although there are state programs that can help.) So are all the specialists and tests (not to mention the orthotics) to finally achieve a diagnosis. I do not like this case one bit.

I never stated it was RELATED to the case but I find it ODD that it happened not even an hour from where the 3 year old disappeared.

Family members said the girl has an orthopedic leg problem, causing her left leg to wobble as she walks. Mariah's grandmother said due to her granddaughter's walking issues, she can't imagine her wandering off.

The family also said Mariah would not have left with a stranger. The sheriff's office checked with Mariah's biological father but said he does not have the girl.

I checked out her page - something is fishy on there. I just don't feel good about this situation. Someone is hiding something. I was also told there was FOUR adults in that house not TWO. So who are the others???

JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County - The search for the missing 3-year-old girl from Onslow County has passed the 24-hour mark.

3-year-old Mariah Woods was reported missing around 6:00 a.m. yesterday morning, Sheriff Hans Miller confirmed.

Mariah was last seen the night before, on November 26, when her mother put her to bed. An Amber Alert was issued later in the evening, hours after the little girl was reported missing.

The 24-hour mark brings a big significance to the investigation, as the first 48 hours following a child's disappearance are most critical for finding and returning that child home safely.

The Latest

Law enforcement officials are confirming that federal agents are going house to house and searching all abandoned cars. Officials said their area of focus is the land behind the line of houses where she went missing, which is marine property.

The Sheriff's dept not asking for assistance from civilians right now and K-9 units were going down both directions of Dawson Cabin Road as of 10:27 a.m.

K-9 units arrived on the scene at 10:00 a.m.

As of 9:30 a.m. this morning, FBI, NCIS, Onslow Sheriff's Department, and military police are on the scene continuing the search for Mariah Woods.

The military police had a mobile command unit set up yesterday, officials confirmed. As our reporters arrived on scene today, officials were setting it up again.

Wonder what the delay was in getting the dogs out? That many hours after sunrise in this situation seems weird.

Officials are tight lipped are on their strategy to find Mariah K. Woods who was reported missing Monday morning by her mother from the Dawson Cabin Road home she shares with her brothers, mother and her mother’s live-in boyfriend.

“We need a break at this point,” Onslow County Sheriff Hans Miller said during a telephone interview from his Jacksonville office. “We are continuing to find out where she is and what happened to her.”
