Friday's hearing was observed by Superior Court Judge Charles H. Henry and prosecuted by Chief Assistant District Attorney Michael Maultsby. Weaks was represented by Walter H. Paramore, III. Paramore is also expected to represent Adolphus Earl Kimrey II in the murder trial of 3-year-old Mariah Woods later this year.

Nope -- Not on the Onslow County Docket at all, and I checked the entire state's dockets -- and neko.

(And just for the halibut, I checked Michael McLellan for the entire state and nulle.)

At least they're still locked up -- eating the county food which is supposed to be worse that the food at the state prisons.

What was scheduled to take place in February 2021 has now been forced into limbo as the Mariah Woods homicide trial was postponed.

Onslow County District Attorney Ernie Lee said in an email to The Daily News that due to COVID-19 issues, the trial is being rescheduled.

Don't change anything yet, @altojack!! :)

Your notes certainly could be correct -- the court info in my most recent post above (#729) does not say trial, but it does take place in Superior Court -- it could simply be something that came up with the prosecutor's office or the defense team; or it could be scheduling information or discussion. So don't erase anything yet!....;)

Thanks for that. I haven't been able to check yet as I foolishly let my son take my car to sort out battery and something else. It's not been in use since before Christmas. Anyway, my book of dates is in the car. Why, oh why I ask mysef.

Found Deceased - NC - Mariah Woods, 3, Onslow County, 27 Nov 2017 #10 *Arrest*

1/30/21 Update: North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Cheri Beasley extended the postponement of jury trials to July 31 in accordance with the safety of those who could be affected by court operations. No trials could be extended past the August 1 date depending upon COVID-19. Pretrial hearing on 2/1/21. Defense expected to file about 30 motions.
2/12/21 Update: Onslow County District Attorney Ernie Lee said the trial, originally scheduled to begin last fall & then rescheduled for February 22, is being postponed again. A new date has not been determined. Lee says he & other court officials are working very hard to set a court date. As of right now, Lee says the trial is scheduled to be in Onslow County, but he adds that the defendant has filed a motion to move it elsewhere, which is still pending. He says the trial will likely take six to eight weeks. They are hoping to start jury trials back up on March 1.
4/16/21 Update: Pretrial hearing on 4/20/21 an afternoon hearing.
