Yes that's how I understand it.

That would lead one to believe that an injury so severe in a 3 year old left untreated would result in death.

This sounds to me, they believe it wasn't EK who killed her.

I believe KW knew that Mariah was dead when she called 911. The fact that she didn't call Mariah's bio dad first to ask if he had taken her was a give away. imo

So, why isn't she charged with something too? Obstruction of justice, lying to LE (about an abduction)? I think charges might be coming.

Probably blood evidence in the trailer or trash. The amount of blood too much for minor injury.

Aaah, but I was not lamenting he had a lawyer, I was sorry that he has a FREE lawyer, when there are so many good causes for which a lawyer can work pro bono. I appreciate our rights in this country . .. but I don't think it would be so bad if this 's lawyer sort of "phoned in" his defense.

For those sleuthers that believe this happened before Thanksgiving, why do you think LE is only asking to hear from anyone for that night thru Monday morning? I'm beginning to think it had to have happened that evening because someone saw her the day before? What do ya'll think?

I read that it had been confirmed that Mariah was definitely seen on Sunday. Now, I have no idea where to find that information again. I hope someone remembers.

I'm not convinced it happened Sunday night, though I think the cover up occurred then. JMO, but EK's whereabouts on Thanksgiving Day with KH's boys could indicate that there was some tension in the household that may have escalated into something over that weekend. I'm sure there are family members who have been able to substantiate their whereabouts. Holidays can be incredible stressful in what may have already been a volatile home, JMO, of course.

I’m thinking the mother or her boyfriend claims to have gone somewhere with her during that time and LE is trying to confirm that. Perhaps they don’t really have any reliable witnesses to establish the last day she was alive so they’re working backwards.

maybe he stole the dressers bc drugs were stashed in there. seems easier to look for drugs than to take the whole thing.

Their searches are focused on 2 areas...

HWY 17 near SW Creek Bridge
HWY 53 in the Shaw HWY area in Pender County.

They are asking for any surveillance or trail cam pics/video specifically in the South Creek area of Hwy 17 and Shaw Creek area off of Hwy 53.

ETA: time frame from Sunday evening to Monday morning.

It was stated one of the areas they are concerned with is located near New River Air Station. They are asking for surveillance/video footage. Since New River Air Station is a Marine Corps helicopter base, wouldn’t they have round the clock satellite surveillance of the general surrounding areas?

South Creek or Southwest Creek? The Creek running under 17 is Southwest Creek, South Creek is a housing development just down the road towards Verona.

.@FBI now calling the Mariah Woods case is a homicide. Focusing on two areas. Hwy 17 near Southwest Creek Bridge in Onslow County and hwy 53 and Shaw highway in Pender county @wnct9

Which then would seem to me that such game cameras would not be on the "edge" of a woods, but well INTO it. And that makes me think, was the boyfriend indeed employed? If so, what were his hours, what days did he work last week . . how much leisure time did he have to dispose of a body. And when.

I wonder if the areas of focus is where EK goes fishing or hunts. Maybe he does not like those activities but sometimes it is very common for a killer to have a familiar spot they like to go too.
