Tbf I have loads of pics of my almost 3 year old where as soon as she's seen the camera she's produced an obvious fake smile. I'm not saying that's the case here, but could very well be. I tried taking one last night of my arm around her in front of the Christmas tree and she moved just as the camera snapped the picture and the result looked like I was throttling her. That's the trouble with phptographs, they literally capture a split second in time. All we can do is hope that many of her days were filled with joy and laughter, and that beautiful child like delight that kids her age take from the most seemingly mundane things (mine is currently rolling a stray Christmas bauble for the cat and squealing with hilarity)

I'm on the fence with religion etc but I hold on to the hope there's somewhere, at least for the little ones, magical and warm and fun. I hope that the truth comes out and justice is swift and I pray her brothers are ok through all of this.

True. I have a picture of me leaning my head on my brother's shoulder. He looks angry, but in reality he was talking to someone else at the time in an animated fashion, as he tends to do, and it caught his mouth open in a way that is really misleading. And nearly all of the pictures of me as a kid make me look angry. I was famous for ruining even professional family pictures because I didn't like my picture being taken. I was not an angry kid at that age, but it sure looks like I was.

Even if someone is savvy enough to file without an attorney there are still filing fees and court costs.
If he didn't have money to file for custody I doubt he would have it for a formality like divorce.

"probable cause to believe that on or about the date of offense shown [11/26/2017 (Sun) through 11/27/2017 (Mon)] and in the county named above the defendant named above unlawfully and willfully did possess TWO DRESSERS.."

Quoted from the warrant. Doesn't mention continued possession after Monday, which may not be relevant if he had to leave the property, but may equally be relevant.

But how would they know he possessed the dressers if they were in the creek?
Maybe they were found minus drawers?
Maybe they were intended to be used but then not.

I can't go with providing an alibi, he'd have to prove someone saw him at that time and could just go somewhere else without committing a crime. I can go with the idea that they were put in the trailer to cover up some missing carpet or other evidence, but why two?
Agree with all of this regarding the dressers. I think they have little or nothing to do with her death or disposal. Yes, it seems odd, but I just really think that the most it tells us is his state of mind. He needed money for something, or he was being particularly reckless that night. But I doubt there is a direct tie to her death or disposal. A stolen dresser as a disposal method would just be really obvious in a body of water. It would also be one of the most awkward ways to move or dump a body. I also don't buy that he would steal dressers to make a makeshift coffin. I just don't buy it. I think by focusing too much on the dressers, we are spending less time on more obvious and logical ways in which she was killed or disposed of.

Why does it matter right now if they were all divorced or married, etc....?

That's what I'm wondering too.
Is it really relevant?

I saw the news when it came out but only just got time to get over here.

I'm sorry Mariah :(

A lot of us called it. But I really wish we were wrong. So wrong.

You know the brown hair thing, it's been debated. Mum dyes her hair blond. I question whether there could have been an element of jealousy.

Goes by Mariah? You'd think she was an adult not a baby! IMO.

Are we even sure that Mariah is her first name? In Kentucky, it is common for people to "go by" their middle name.

First time posting... (nervous). I’ve followed several cases on WS. This case has shaken me to the core. In the beginning it was mentioned the BF and Mom were using Meth. I’ve witnessed first hand what Meth does to a person. I’ve tried to save several addicts in my lifetime. Meth is by far the most evil of all, IMO. Ten years ago my niece,16 months old, was abused by her mother’s BF. Her mother dropped her off at my house shortly after the incident. After an hour of trying to calm her and give her a bath, i found her back side bruised from her shoulder blades to her bottom. Her mother told the detective she left my niece with her BF while she went to purchase meth and she “slipped down the steps” while she was gone. That was the most challenging part of my life. To this day I do not have children of my own. I’ve devoted my life to my niece and nephew and thank God everyday for both of them. If only I could’ve saved sweet Mariah. RIP baby girl knowing you’re loved by many.

First of all, SissySue, bless you for all you do -- for the good and selfless things that are noticed and the same that is not noticed. Oh, how the world needs more SissySues!

Second, there is no need to be nervous around this crowd of folks! We have all had our "first case" and our "first post." Yours was eloquent and helpful. And one more thing:

:welcome: to Websleuths, SissySue!! We're so glad you're here!

Just jump right in with the rest of us!

Thanks. I probably have read her middle name a thousand times -but to be honest my heart is broken -and my mind is blown over how this ended. I have a few friends in Kentucky -and this is exactly what they would say. For instance -her name is Amanda Irene -her mom would say "she goes by" Amanda.

Who were the "Four people in the house, two adults and two babies and somebody just comes, snatches the baby up and walks out?” AW is speaking of? Wouldn't there have been 5, 2 adults and 3 children?
He clearly meant the 4 other people who would have been there when the 5th was being abducted

Just a thought.

I'm thinking that the death/near death of Mariah occurred first; then panic on his part; then he thought he had to get rid of her (kidnapping, yes, that's it); take her somewhere without getting caught; I'll steal something from the house down the road, put her in it and go to the lake.

So I think the drawers were used to hide her body while he took off down the road to the lake if they figure in this sordid biznezz at all. JMO.

My heart breaks for this little sweetie, and her brothers, especially. They are so young, and powerless, and voiceless.

May God bring peace & comfort to those who loved her & to those who searched and found her. Rest easy, Sweet Mariah.

This article contains the mum's interview https://www.cbsnews.com/news/father-...disappearance/

I've transcribed it below -

(Beginning cut from video, but presuming interviewer has asked her what she would like to say to the abductor)

Please bring her back, and I love her, I would do anything that I could, whatever you want, just bring her home please safe and sound, she's my baby, she's my everything.

Q. What does she mean to you and your family [Miss Kennedy?]

A. She's like a angel, I had my tubes tied and burnt on each side, I found out that I was pregnant with her [looks up to sky] so we call her our little angel, she's got the personality of [looks up to sky] make you laugh [smiles], she's goofy, outgoing [looks up to sky], talkative [smiles], she knows how to make your day brighter, a lot to this community and people that are here looking for her love her to death [looks to ground].

Q. What would it mean to you to see her face again?

A. Everything in the world, just to be able to touch her and hold her and not let her go again, I'd give anything.

Never uses her name. (Although we've all heard the other quote where "she goes by Mariah")

Never expresses concern for what Mariah may be going through... is she hurt, is she scared, is she crying, she doesn't have her favorite blankie...

"She's an angel" ("angel" used twice)
"Love her to death"
"Not let her go again"

History of birth (tubes tied)... irrelevant to finding a missing child. Others have commented that it sounds like a eulogy.

I'd *love* to hear the 911 call. I hope they release it soon.

And that may be a really simple explanation for the way she stated, "she goes by Mariah." I see nothing odd in her statement.

ETA the mother may also often use a pet name for her, which would also explain this statement.

How do you go through a funeral after this tragedy? Praying for Mariah's loved ones, it's going to take a lot of grace to be able to handle this and it's just starting. I hope they all get support and counseling.

I could be wrong, but I wonder if LE was looking for something (ANYTHING) to charge him with to hold him until they could figure out and get evidence to prove he had murdered this baby. JMO.

absolutely correct Niner. Give the player a cardboard cookie. LOL good job his arrest was reported just a little after 2am and She was not reported found until about 6 this evening

[QUOTE[FONT=&amp].[/FONT][FONT=&amp]The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI arrested 32-year-old Earl Kimrey late Friday and charged him with concealing a death, obstruction of justice, second-degree burglary, larceny and possession of stolen property. I'm still struck by the timing of the arrest. 2am? All the LE on this case, it should have been easy to watch him until morning. I think its significant when taken with the timeline that's been announced. A little nod from LE that THEY know what he did- or a psych tweak to someone else involved.... jmho. Of course, they could have simply responded the minute they had confirmation and could, or caught him moving around and were worried he'd flee.
