I don't know much about Paitin Fields case but the similarities that I do know are baffling. Mariah's dump site was located in between the 2 homes where both children we missing? Both last seen in their homes (mobile homes) in the middle of the night? Both very young girls close to the same age? Hard to find any more info on Paitin's case which is infuriating. Is anyone else bothered with these details? How are they so closely related? Is there just a big dose of evil hanging out in that area?
I would post the map marking everything but not sure how to do that. New here and this is my first post.[emoji112]
Also, both cases were Sunday night into early Monday morning. Two weeks apart. Paitin Nov 12, Mariah Nov 26. Law Enforcement exceedingly tight lipped re investigation. Lots of similarities.

Mariah may not have died immediately after her injuries. There are many cases where a child was injured but didn't receive medical attention and died 2 or 3 days after the injury. In almost all of those cases, there was reported abuse before so the parent was more afraid of getting in trouble and losing their child, than their child suffering and dying slowly :(

Gosh please don't let this be the case. :(

I don't disagree with you that they are underfunded and overworked. So are teachers, but they still bear some responsibility for what happens on their watch.

Legislators make the laws which social workers must follow.

I have wondered why laws dealing with child sex abuse are so lax. I am getting the understanding of the why as the thoughts and values of politicians and the public are being revealed

I guess I assumed they had been removed when it was reported that they are currently in the custody of a grandparent.

Somebody left a comment on the Sheriff’s FB page that on Friday DSS took custody of the children and the bio dad is going to court on Monday for custody of his two sons.

Not when it is impossible to adequately handle their caseload.

Social workers must pay monthly visits to each child in their case load. Even if the child is placed out of state or the county which is not uncommon. So tell
me how they can visit each child monthly if they have 50-60 cases?

That should be illegal. But it's not. And it makes it literally impossible to monitor their cases.

Great post! And thanks for supporting social workers. Let's not forget that they not only remove children from terrible abuse, they have to testify, and a lot of times (like this case) return the children to the abusive home. Has to be a very stressful job.

Wow! What an amazing article! Who knew there was a link between serial arson and serial killing?

I did. It's also linked to animal torture.

The sad sad facts I learn here on WS :(

Since this was in a comment, it is considered rumor for now. But nevertheless, thank you for mentioning it.

I suppose this is why they don't want him talking. If he talks, he may reveal more about a potential case against her, and they don't want that out there right now.

Scanning...looks like he was busy with 2 incidents of "assault/other dangerous weapon" in early April of last year? (What is SUPP contact?)

Also, 10/13---"injury to personal property"... (car window incident or other?)

So, HE reported her missing? 11/27 "Reporting party"

I've been gone but have a question. They were searching in a body of water close to Mariah's home. Then they moved to another area body of water and found her. How far apart are those two places and did they know where to go because Earl told them where to look? TIA

An excerpt from this article states Mariah’s mother and father are divorced.

Mariah’s mother is divorced from the girl's father, Alex Woods, who said that while his daughter is with her mother his weeks are “like hell, like a nightmare.”

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nat...d-mother-boyfriend-arrested-article-1.3672349

there see to be certain groups in our population today that consistently misuse family labels. My refer to co-habitation as marriage and moving out as divorced. I realize there is some photographic evidence availble that indicates The Mom and Bio dad actually married but after that who knows.

I am constantly frustrated trying to sort out true relaationships when ppl refer to adoptive parents as Step or current bf/gf as step or husband/wife. I am aware of common law marriage in some states but even with that there is a time frame required to be applicable.

I don't see why they even needed to visit the Matthew's home again after the visits they had and the evidence that was reported more than once by the pediatrician stating that her MANY broken bones were caused by abuse. There is a point when they bear responsibility. That is one of them.

I have nothing against CPS. I am in their corner and wish people were not so critical when they err on the side of caution. But as with other groups of people I support (like LE), I don't believe in letting them off the hook in every case simply because I respect them, know their jobs are hard, realize they are underfunded, or anything else.

I work in animal rescue. These kinds of excuses are also sometimes used to let my fellow rescuers off the hook when they make grave mistakes that result in the loss of life or when they allow their facilities to become uninhabitable. I don't subscribe to this notion no matter how overwhelmed we are. We have a responsibility, and it's one we have chosen to take on.

Mariah had more than one female relative. JMO
Yes, but only one she would be going "back" to, as in returned to.

The law. Social workers are not free agents who do as they please. They have to abide by statutes

Where did you hear about broken bones from abuse and reports from pediatricians? First I'm hearing of that.
