I believe her FB was taken down. I actually saw older pics of her early on when I was searching for info about the case through MSM.

It is still possible to see older pictures of her, but I don't think I can pull them over here, because they are on FB belonging to other family members? they would have to be in MSM, correct?

Wow.

the last visible post on her page from Nov 15th is SUPER DISTURBING and is immediately followed by several telling posts

Here is the video she reposted on Nov 15

WARNING!!
Even though the video has a happy ending ... in the context of this case, the video is terrible.

I wondered about that as well. I couldn't see the posts after the video on her page.
I did wonder if she had the thought in her mind of the drama and attention a 'lifeless child' might bring and then to be fair I thought of how she has children and that may be why her interest in that story. IMO

I wouldn't be surprised if psych evaluations will be ordered (very routine in social services cases like this) and part of the treatment plan for the group of ppl in this case. Mental health is real and there are may issues with that in this case. MOO

I would be surprised if psych evaluations weren’t ordered.

The boys are with KW’s mother pending a custody hearing which I believe will take place tomorrow.

My nephew has been dealing with CPS in a neighboring county for 2 yrs. The mother of his child is an admitted heroin user. Numerous calls have been made to CPS and aside from one home visit following the initial complaint nothing has been done. She is pretty much out of the picture for now and he has custody so he hasn’t had a need to formally follow up and push the CPS side of things but we’re all appalled at the lack of action.

I imagine with the huge amounts of heroin issues, they are swamped. Are taxpayers willing to pony up the money for more people to do the job?

I think there is some confusion as to the difference between Fentanyl and Carfentanyl. People absolutely use Fentanyl straight. Carfentanyl is the veterinary version of the human drug and is made for elephants. Someone with an opioid tolerance could absolutely use it without dying. However they could just as easily die. That's the danger of using it in street drugs or even standalone in a non clinical setting.

Police tend to always use gloves when dealing with narcotics because you simply don't know what's in them. Transdermal absorption can happen quickly but is definitely seen when dealing with opiates and cocaine especially.

And I don't think it was you but someone said something about a toddler likely not being able to invest enough heroin or spitting it out and that's not exactly true. Heroin doesn't have a particularly bad or synthetic smell or taste. Its not always cut with anything or sometimes its cut with anything from laxatives to morphine to fentanyl. Regardless, a toddler would only need to ingest less than half a teaspoon to do major damage or cause death.

Its entirely possible the girl got into drugs and they tried to hide it, but I feel that there is known evidence to preclude that theory.

Yea, that actually was me who mentioned the taste. Thanks for correcting that. I always assumed heroin had a horrendous taste like all drugs (well, except the flavored once, which still taste nasty to me, horrible memories of the horrendous "bubble gum" antibiotic I used to get when I was a kid. Do they still make that travesty? haha).

The drug you're thinking of is Fentanyl. If he had heroin laced with Fentanyl he would have died long ago. No one uses Fent straight, it's cut in with heroin. It's important to mention that not all heroin contains Fentynal. Heroin cut with Fent has been the cause of all the OD's we've been hearing about in the media.

OT a little bit, but here in BC we are having a HUGE problem with Fentanyl. So many OD's recently. It's gone up dramatically. My 15 year old has Narcan that she got from her outreach worker and was taught how to use it, so she keeps it on her all the time. At 15. This is serious business.

If anyone wants to see exactly how bad it is here, check out our PD's recent Youtube series, "Fighting Fentanyl"

We had 900 OD deaths in BC last year. I'm sure it's gone up this year.

bella bond was beat to death for not going to bed

I keep feeling a lot of similarities between KW and Rachelle Bond. I said earlier that KW's tone of voice in Mariah's birthday video sounded so similar to RB's tone of voice in Bella's birthday video.

But, Bella's COD was never fully determined other than some method of stopping her heart beating, I think. Several posters suggested "Burking" for Bella's COD and I think the ME said that was one possibility.

I suspect Mariah's death will have been more violent, more obvious beating :-(

Although RB's boyfriend was convicted of Bella's death, I would say the MO (and a lot of other factors) point more to a female. IF Mariah's turns out to be more violent in nature, I would say that's more consistent with a male/bf MO.

With this case, and the horrific case of beautiful Victoria Martens, I am really troubled by the role of drugs and sexual abuse, and parents offering up their children to be used. I think this needs to be added to what people in social services look for. Any broken family (i.e. the two adults in the house are not the biological parents) in trouble with CPS or LE for drug use, the children should be interviewed and examined for evidence of sexual assault/abuse. And any signs of SA need to be immediate grounds for removal. Because when drugs are involved, there isn't any bit of parental reunification services that are going to be helpful. The drugs and drug seeking behavior will always come first.
IMO.

Alberta is really bad too.
There's been almost 500 fentanyl related deaths here already.

We've been having the same problem here in the lower 48. In our case, the heroin is cut with too much Fent or it's super pure and it's killing people. We had a rash of OD's this past Spring and Summer. I'm sure they are still going on but with Trump taking over the headlines the media is focusing on him and his screw-ups instead of the opiod epidemic. It's been so sad, I personally know of 5 young people who died this past year because of the junk.

OMG!

And then on Nov 19th she started posting that Gone is Gone thing?

Can anyone see anything about the photos in the archive? Do you see the thing I thought I saw with the re-posting of one of the pictures of Mariah for maybe five days in a row from approx Nov 20th? Can this be confirmed or denied by the record?

I know I cautioned about reading too much into a meme, but this is getting freaky with coincidences.

I’ve heard that there’s nothing CPS can do unless it can be proven that drug use or being under the influence of drugs happened at the time kids are in their care. So, if kids are being cared for by a babysitter, grandparent, etc., during the alleged drug use nothing can be done. That means if a parent is accused of being on drugs and fails a drug test on a Monday, but had a babysitter or the kids were under the care of someone else within the last few days there’s nothing CPS can do. Is that correct?

There was just a fentanyl bust in Ohio. It was enough to kill 9 million people. I think it’s safe to say it’s a huge problem in the US.

There are pictures on the gofundme page that I had not seen before. she is smiling, grinning, and the bubbly kid that AW describes.

I've not seen the page but I thought AW had not been allowed to see the children in many months? If that is true, he couldn't possibly know what was going on in that household.

kind of O/T but EK seems so much smaller and younger than KH, how old is he? The first picture I saw of him I thought he was a teenager..

it's inexcusable but possibly the result of bystander trauma. with epidemic abuse and neglect as well as the meth and opioid crisis, there are no good options for a lot of kids. I am currently job searching with a(n) MS is psych. I resist the DSHS child protection jobs bc I don't know if I could handle it, but I would get some much needed experience for my resume. That's also why I didn't go into forensic psych - I don't think I could manage knowing details of child abuse and dealing with the perpetrators of it without going vigilante.

Probably too much for the workers to keep up with. There was another lady just two or three months ago from the same area who was arrested for knowing her boyfriend was abusing her child and not doing anything about it.
